Great looking large mailbox
This is going to be a cookie-cutter review for three items, all purchased at the same time and used for the same purpose, to upgrade my existing mailbox.Item 1: Gibraltar Mailbox Aluminum Post (Amazon Item: B07QYBVDXG)Item 2: Gibraltar Brunswick Rural Mailbox (Amazon Item: B07CMGD215)Item 3: Outdoor Solar 4x4 Post Light (Amazon Item: B07YD1Y67)I wanted to upgrade our existing standard size plastic box to something bigger and had settled on the Gibraltar brand of mailboxes. I added them to my wish list a while back, and forgot about them until the past holiday season. I went through all my list this past holiday season, see what items to see what was on sale and also do a little purging. I saw that the mailbox was on sale and decided to finally commit to the purchase. I also looked and noticed that the Gibraltar mailbox post was available as an Amazon Renewed item for $17 less than a brand new one. Post cover went on pretty smooth, simply removed the old mail box and slid the new one over the post the was sticking out of the ground. Luckily, the existing post wasn’t that tall, so I didn’t have to modify it at all to get the post cover to completely cover it. There are two bolts that go through the body of the post cover that holds the mailbox platform in its place. If you have a taller 4x4 post in the ground, you may need to drill a hole through the 4x4 post to get the post to go through it. As I mentioned, mailpost was an “renewed” item from Amazon, and I did notice a couple small dent on the post, but its barely noticeable. So yeah, I’ll take a $17 discount for a scratch or two on something that will be sitting out in the elements for months/years to come. The mailpost cover is nice, but I wanted to added a little something to it to make it even better, which is where the 4x4 solar post light some in. The round sphere thing on the post was held on by a simple screw, which was easily removed and replaced by a bolt which I used to attach the solar light in its place.Note: Solar post light needed a little a bit more support on bottom stem which nearly match the diameter of a connector end for ½ PVC pipe. I used the ½ PVC connector piece to add a bit more structure support inside the stem of the light; without it, the thin plastic walls could buckle and crack overtime with heat and the occasion strong winds we get in Central Florida. A long enough bolt and washer later, I managed to get the post light to attach to the Gibraltar mailpost’s cap. I should also note that the original mailbox cap wasn’t level. It wasn’t noticeable when the sphere was attached, but when I added the post light, I noticed it was slightly crocked. I originally thought the light stem was at fault, but after a bit more investigation and a handy water level, I saw that it was the surface the sphere sat on wasn’t exactly flat. Not a big deal, a small shim later and I managed to get the post light look close to level. The light on top of the mailbox adds a little something to the appearance of the mailbox. It’s not bright enough to act as a street light for the neighborhood, but it is bright enough to tell late night guest to look for the house with the light mailbox light on it.Finally, the mailbox looks great. It BIG enough to accept a USPS Medium size box (not the t-shirt box, but the cube looking one), with room to spare for envelopes, flyers, and magazines. I like the magnetic cover latch locking mechanism instead of the traditional compression/tension kind most mailboxes come with that tend to wear out over time.Overall, I’m happy with the upgrade to the houses mail box and DIY upgrade to mailbox post. It’s a little on the pricier side for the type of mailboxes you can buy, but well worth the investment. Now, should I get a mailbox planter box or something else?

Great Mailbox! (post not included)
We were replacing a mailbox that had been up for over thirty years. This was so easy to install because I was able to re-use the pressure treated post that had been in the ground for over 30 years, yes THIRTY years!! So we bought a plastic post separately that slides over the old 4x4 post. The first thing you will notice is the sturdy weight and feel of this mailbox. It just feels like it's going to last a long time. The fasteners were all packed in a small plastic package along with the necessary instructions. I especially like the slightly extra size compared to a typical residential mailbox. The magnetic catch for the door works well and the flag works smoothly (but the old man in me wonders why they didn't paint it red!).Nonetheless we really like the mailbox and as much as it hurt to get rid of the old one we felt like we got a really well made product! Update 7/30/21:The flag began to develop rust about a year after installation. I’m disappointed. On the plus side, the paint on the mailbox itself seems to be holding up fine.

Sturdy, Classic and Gorgeous
This mailbox is stunning ...it goes perfectly with my white post. Very high-quality. The numbers didn’t come with it but you can buy them on Amazon and are easy to put on as well. My mailman was so happy... my old mailbox was falling apart the door had come off but this one fit right on top of where the old one sat. The screw holes matched right up even though this mailbox is bigger than my other one. I think I did a great job installing it since I’m a 70 year old woman LOL. I’ve gotten lots of compliments on it from my neighbors. :)

Elegant Mailbox
This is sturdy elegant looking mailbox and a good value for the money. I replaced my existing mailbox which was rusting and had some latch issues. I mounted the mailbox using stainless hardware that is typically used to mount license plates. The side holes accommodated a 6M screw with black plastic covers. In addition, I ordered custom lettering. The slide out liner from my old mailbox fit perfectly in this one. Overall, I am very happy with the result and the value.7/8/20: The outgoing flag has started to rust. The description of the mailbox indicates that the flag is aluminum; it is not.7/10/20: I added a picture of the rust on the flag. I am going to drill out the rivet, repaint it and reinstall it. Oh joy!

Very nice looking mailbox
The item arrived packaged inside two separate boxes and in very good condition. I see that the manufacturer is reading the reviews and corrected that error, since most were arriving damaged.I did notice that there was a slight misalignment of the floor of the mailbox, while inspecting it. I'll find out how much that affects it when I get it mounted to the post that I bought it with.

Great lookin' mailbox!
This was an expensive mailbox, but very attractive. I have received a lot of compliments from neighbors and it does not look like every other mail box on our street. Once we got it installed it looked really sharp. Install wasn't too bad once we measured it out. Metal holes were a tiny bit off, but it worked out fine. Mailbox is solid - we chose steel for that reason. The flag is steel, too, so it isn't going anywhere or bending, either. I think it is worth the price.

Awesome Deal!!!
I was hesitant to get this mailbox at first because I worried that it would be a cheap feeling mailbox. I tried other magnetic mailboxes that felt rough opening and closing, and i worried this would be like that. A seller had it for about $20 one day and I thought, well if its not good then we can just send it back. Where is the harm? It was perfect. Latch was smooth to open and close. There's a couple of dents in certain spots but only noticeable if you are really looking for it, and for $20 bucks, I cannot complain!!!
