You would have to try it so you can see if you like the look. I have used it to stiffen paper and cloth type material for my scale models. It provides a wonderfully firm, durable finish that dries completely clear. I was especially impressed that it left absolutely no film on my projects, which is a huge advantage over other methods. I apply it straight out of the bottle with a small paintbrush. This gives you great control and helps you to keep the shape. I have seen that some reviewers believe it’s almost the same as PVA glue (white glue) but when I use PVA glue for my use case I can’t apply any weathering (acrylic or pigments) on top of it as easy without the shape being affected.
