This is the first solder kit I've ever purchased so I did extensive research on what was need for the repair I needed to perform on a laptop. If your a beginner like me, you cannot rely on the instructions in this kit as so much detail is excluded, such as melting point for solder included in this kit, or the fact that you need to tin the tip before use. There are other important materials that should be included in any soldering kit that were not included, such as flux and solder's wick. The solder iron has a small dial for adjusting the temperature that may require the use of a magnifier to read. I should also mention the stand for the soldering iron is just a thin piece of aluminum that you bend for use.... not the most sturdy support for a hot iron. Good kit for occasional use.

Would have given 5 stars if it had an actual stable stand to put the hot iron

For the price this was the best investment ever, I had originally started installing led lights on my ducky keyboard and I couldnt finish it because the iron stopped melting not even half way..even then it was hard to remove the presolder that were covering the holes...come to find out the desoldering pimp is a godsend! worth every penny!
