Yamaha BAR 400

I spent ages looking at all different sound bars. For a similar price you have the BOSE and the Sonos soundbars. However they don't come with a sub. After looking through the features such as Alexa control and the music cast app i thought i would give it a try. Safe to say I'm definitely not disappointed. The sound quality is amazing. Anyone worries if it will be loud enough,,, it certainly is and the subwuffer volume is also way more than you'll need. Alexa was a little disappointing as for the controls you have to keep saying the name of the room and "ask" for alexa to control it which is also temperamental. The musiccast app is fantastic though and you can control everything through it, which excuses the poor remote for the system. Only issue i has was when i first installed i was given a firmware update through the app, this failed and put the music bar into a limbo state. After looking online i couldn't find much info. However i found the update file online and installed through the Update USB port on the music bar as i could no longer connect through the app. I would 100% recommend this, the sound quality is fantastic and the musiccast app works with this system perfectly.

If you are looking for a multi room system that is easy to expand with great sound for the money, look no further. Good solid build quality too.

Great, watched and got it for a great price, easy to hook up to my MusicCast WX030 speaker, Yamaha does it again :)

I'm currently listening to music on it blue-toothed from my phone and the sound quality is excellent on the standard Stereo setting. When I watch TV there is seamless integration between it (Panasonic) and the soundbar, and the 3D Surround setting is surprisingly good for films. I've owned it a few months now and have had few issues. Word of caution: (i) The MusicCast app is not great. Give yourself 1 - 2 hours, maybe more to get it running smoothly. I can't emphasise enough how much of a pain this was to set up frankly. (ii) I bought a couple of MusicCast 20s to accompany it for films. Do they make a difference? Yes without a doubt. Do they make 300 quids worth of difference in comparison to the standard 3D Surround setting? Jury's out. Would suggest seeing how you get on with the basic unit first. In terms of the basic unit as reviewed I'd recommend it to anybody. Very good for the price.

Love this product incredible sound for both music and movies. I would say for £300 I loved this product but I’m aware the product is usually priced at £600 and I would say it’s amazing for £300 but £600 is abit of a push for the product. But most sound bars are highly priced for good sound quality. The bass is very well balanced I will say the sound bar is better suited for movies than music.

a very special offer at £299! Works great, expensive for surround sound, extra mulitcast speakers. Remote is good, I use a universal remote and there is option for actual on and off (not power toggle, like the original remote). I have to use bluetooth for "BBC sounds", as the NET option is no good. I dont have any of the offerings, like spotify. Luckily you are not forced to use Alexa! MY biggest critism, is the LED lights are on the top, absolutely useless if the speaker in below the TV like mine, totally out of sight. So I never know if the sound bar is on or off. A big failing!!

This was almost a breeze to plug everything in and make it work except I couldn't get the Musiccast app to log me in to pair it with Alexa. It works fine on the PC logging in but you can't log in on the app. It keeps saying wrong password so I changed it with my password manager on PC and it logs me in ok on there but not the app still saying wrong password so obviously a dodgy app. Doesn't seem to be any way to contact Yamaha about this either. I guess I will have to try them on Facebook etc till I get some info on how to fix this. Update since march I have had constant connection issues with the surround speakers, this has been going on despite updates from Yamaha via firmware and app, the developers really need to get their finger out on this and fix this problem once and for all. If not there is going to be a hell of a lot of disappointed customers.

Fabulous sound reproduction. Bought to replace Bose Solo 5. The extra bass adds a new dimension to TV and streaming music. I also have it networked with a Yamaha RX-V6A. It gives me great sound throughout the lower level of my house. Really delighted with this product.

Ottimo prodotto per qualità e design Io lo utilizzo al posto dell'audio del tv e la differenza ovviamente è abissale. Purtroppo riscontro che il sub woofer (collegato senza fili) si disconnette dalla barra e per riattivarlo devo staccare e ricollegare il cavo di alimentazione. Può essere un problema solo del mio...
