Shakes the movie theatre. Exactly what we needed. Worth the price.

These were back-ordered, but the vendor contacted me and they ended up shipping exactly when he said the would. The sound from these is very deep, and tightly controlled bass. I didn't audition any others in this price range but will say that these outperform my 90's vintage VMPS Large subwoofer by leaps and bounds. The app for fine tuning is very intuitive, even for amature audiophiles. The Merlen software on their website gave parameters based upon your L/R speaker brand and model. The recommended settings were very close, only needing to be adjusted for our room size. One of the displays didn't work, so I called the tech assist and actually spoke to someone who emailed some pictures and I was able to fix the problem in 5 minutes. They will also assist in dialing in the sound, should you need the help. All in all, these are priced very competatively when compared to similarly well reviewed subs, and come with outstanding customer support.

I have put off replacing a really good subwoofer that died on me years ago- until now. I'm glad that I purchased this SVS SB-4000. The technology has advanced allowing for some nice features; but it also sounds and works well which is the most important part. This subwoofer blends well with my tower speakers adding to the depth of my speakers and not just making them sound louder. A good subwoofer will extend the range of the main speakers- not just make the lows that are already there louder. This sub filled in the music on my main speakers as well as bringing life to action movies. So this subwoofer is not just good for movies, but is also musical. Listening to 2 channel music (2.1 actually) this subwoofer blends in to produce some strong deep bass from the drums in Jazz and Rock. The technology side of this subwoofer is also impressive. I was able to download the SVS app to my phone and I can control all aspects of this subwoofer from volume, to room profiling. It can be a lot to learn and try to adjust but fortunately, this sub is also designed to work with the latest home theater receivers using Audessy. I simply plugged my interconnect into the LFE connection on the back of the subwoofer and let Audessy do all the work. Afterwards I am still able to adjust the volume from my phone and even create profiles for music or movies outside of the Audessy settings. I can increase the volume until the bass is overpowering or put it back to the normal presets where it is hard to tell if the subwoofer is doing anything. That's how a sub is supposed to work. It should be seamless so that you have to go put your hand near the driver to see if it is actually working. SVS Customer support is outstanding. I received my new subwoofer on Friday evening after work. I got this big monster out of the box and set up but was not getting any sound. (Did the hand near the driver thing, put my hand on the driver even). I called the customer support number at just after 7 PM and somebody answered the phone! With his help over the phone we got my new subwoofer up and running. I was very glad someone was available so that I did not have to spend my weekend with disappointment. Instead I have had a fun weekend hearing explosions and the full range of music.

Our home theater was previously equipped with a JL Audio Fantom F112 V1 powered subwoofer when we purchased the house a couple of years ago. Unfortunately the F112 suddenly died, forcing us to look at a replacement/repair. The JL Audio equipment is way over priced for our needs in both repair or replacement, so we began to do our research. A friend suggested we look at the SVS line of powered subwoofers. After reading a few reviews and listening to a SVS SB-3000 I chose the SB-4000 as our replacement subwoofer and ordered from Amazon. It arrived in perfect shape, and required me to use my furniture hand truck to move into place. Make sure you have two health people to lift this thing as it weighs a bit over 100 pounds. The depth and richness this subwoofer produces easily kicks the wall down on movies like Top Gun, Avatar, and Polar Express. A wonderful addition to our home theater. So if you are considering adding a deep rich sounds to your home theater experience, look no further. Size is great, fits into the A/V cabinet just fine. Consider installing the optional isolation feet as it truly enhances the overall sound quality. 5 star, booming deep base that keeps kicking at a reasonable price.

Excelente subwoofer. Me gusta este modelo más que las nuevas versiones ya que tiene su pantalla, control remoto, control mediante app y su rejilla metálica. Sonido. Tiene un bajo sólido y profundo, muy rápido al ser sellado. Tenía mis dudas ya que siempre había tenido anteriormente subs portados, pero la sorpresa que me llevé es que un sub sellado para música es la elección correcta. En películas también cumple con creces con un sonido profundo y con cuerpo. Si tienes el presupuesto para comprar uno de estos no lo dudes, yo vengo de velodyne y cerwin Vega de 18 pulgadas y este svs sb4000 hace no tan solo que no los extrañes sino que empiezas a escuchar unos bajos muchísimo más claros, profundos y rápidos sin perder cuerpo a pesar de ser una bocina de 13.5 pulgadas. No tan solo no se quedó atrás sino que los superó por completo. Ten en cuenta que es pesado. 50kgs
