Moozica 17 Keys Kalimba Marimba, Solid Koa Wood Professional Thumb Piano Musical Instrument (Koa-K17K)

What a wonderful instrument! I love learning new instruments and the kalimba has been on my list for a while now. I've been looking for a bit because i wanted a good instrument for a good price. I settled on this kalimba and was not disappointed! The koa wood is beautiful and produces a fantastic sound. The tines are well made and i am greatful for the engraved notes, which make it easier to learn. The carrying bag it comes with is well contructed and will protect the kalimba well. It also comes with an instruction book with a few songs, stickers to mark tines, and thumb guards so you can play all night long! Overall the construction ia beautiful and i believe it will stand the tests of time very well. It may be a beginner instrument for me, but the construction and sound it produces may just mean I have found my forever kalimba!!

I am pleasantly surprised with this kalimba. It took me a week to decide which one to buy and I finally decided on this Moozica 17 key. What finally made up my mind is that the notes and numbers are engraved on the tines. There are no plastic strips to fool with to place on each tine. Big advantage! It came out of the box all in tune. It is attractive, and the carrying case is surprisingly sturdy. I set the kalimba on top of the carrying case to play it. I received the hammer and cloth bag and strap. The sound is so nice and after I fool with it for a little while I will give another review. But right now, after 15 minutes with it, it's a great buy. And even if I never strike another tine again, it's an attractive little piece to just sit out on the table.

The sound quality is top notch. Easy to make beautiful tones with. Simple to begin learning, but difficult to master. Highly recommend, even if you are not so musically inclined. You might surprise yourself with the sounds you make in no time.

This kalimba fulfills my expectations. I first ordered a Gecko model that was shown in the display pictures as having engraved keys. It didn't. I returned it and bought this Moozica instead. This one seems heavier, better made and I like the curved indented front. My hands feel more comfortable. These tynes are engraved, just like I wanted. I can't say it was in tune when it arrived but I only spent a few minutes using the app to tune it up. It sounds good. The hard case is not the same quality as the Gecko case but that's not real important to me. I'm a senior, I wanted something to keep my mind and hands busy during the pandemic. I have no intentions of playing it anywhere but home! I like the sound of this kalimba better than the Gecko model. This kalimba sounds abit deeper, not so tinny. This comes with a little gold chain that fastens to the front but it's cheap. I don't/won't use it. For the money I paid, this was well worth it. I don't know if professionals buy their musical instruments on Amazon but for the average customer like me, this kalimba works well. One high key, E3 doesn't sound right and I'm having some trouble getting it to hold it's pitch. I thought I should mention that but all the other keys are smack in tune. It's not a note I use alot and it's not worth returning the product. This is the closest instrument to a piano I've found that's small and portable. That's the biggest appeal of the kalimba! I can play songs on this just like a small piano. I recommend this Moozica model over the Gecko model.

I looked over dozens of Kalimba listings on Amazons, and picked this one because the seller's website gave the impression that they specialized in crafting these instruments. For the price, I couldn't be happier with what I received. The instrument itself is wonderful: beautiful stained koa wood, great resonance, great tone, and a nice smooth shape that fits the hands perfectly. Also included: a hard-cover case of surprising quality, a nice booklet of songs and tips, a tuning tool, and a chain to mount on the keys for a sizzle effect. The case really does an excellent job of protecting the instrument when travelling with a stiff outer shell and a velvet interior. Extremely satisfied with this purchase, thank you Moozica!

Well made, resonates very well. My wife said it sounds like a piano or harp. Had it for two weeks and can play five songs from actual sheet music. I download flute music for starters, then add simple chords by clicking adjoining notes or using "glissando", or sliding my fingers across three keys. Pretty damn simple. If you can't figure this thing out, try a different art form - finger painting, clay modeling, or something similar. If you get one of these, try to learn from actual sheet music so you can train your fingers to hit the right notes without looking. It is simple. Then you can figure out how to play anything. Here is what I can play without a mistake: "Over the Rainbow", "Gypsy Rover", "King of the Fairies", Claire de Lune", "Scarborough Faire", and "Greensleeves". These aren't complicated arrangements, mainly a simple treble line, but I add some extra stuff. Sounds great.

I watched You Tube videos when I first learned about this instrument and then compared all the brands and type of kalimbas on Amazon. This one was more expensive than others but I wanted a greater note range than the cheaper ones, and I liked that this brand had the notes etched into the keys. I wondered if I would need to apply note stickers too, but when I received it (as a 2018 Christmas gift to myself) I could easily read the etched notes. I love the tone and the quality of the wood and craftsmanship of this brand. I keep the instrument in its carrying case (included in the box) which protects the keys very well. Very happy with this company. Oh! It did take about two months since it came from China, but not sure if that's still the case. That was clearly stated in the description so it wasn't a surprise or disappointment. It was kind of fun to watch the tracking of the shipment across the globe. LOVE this and just playing around on it for a few minutes gives the same effect as a massage, bowl of ice cream, hot cocoa, etc. but without the calories or expense ;)

This kalimba is a little bit more expensive than others but it is worth it. There is a nice semi-glossy finish to it, it has grooves on both sides of wood for comfort while holding, It includes the tremolo chain and little hooks already attached and also a shell case which is custom molded on inside to specifically fit this kalimba which even has a place for tuning hammer (see picture). Because notes are engraved on at bottom of keys it made learning twinkle twinkle little star very easy and I could play it within 20 minutes. It does come already tuned. The downside is finding sheet music that is coherent.

Just purchased this kalimba. And it's beauty and sound did not fail to meet my expectations. Even though this was a little bit more expensive than the other kalimba options, there are a number things I've found that have made this purchase worthwhile: (Just for reference, I purchased the model K17K-With Bag) #1. The Notes Were Engraved Onto The Keys (Very Clearly I Might Add) From what I've seen most other brands use stickers to mark their keys. This was a concern for me. I didn't want the stickers to fade out or drop off over time. It would have been a pain to replace them again myself. The way the keys are engraved is elegantly done as well. Clear, but not too outstanding. #2. The Color & Appearance Are Beautifully Stunning Choosing between the Mahogany version of this Kalimba and the Koa wood version, I chose to go with the Koa wood one. The deep brown color is both beautiful and stunning. Other than the color, the appearance just seems so finely made. I enjoy looking at it and feeling the touch of the kalimba. #3. Comes With A Lot Of Nice Accessories Tuning hammer. Well-fitted and sleek black case. Thumb glove protectors. An instruction booklet for beginners. A few different stickers for self marking. Nice little black pouch. And more. I appreciate the thought that went into bundling. (Some suggestions: I would have liked to seen an Alaska Pik included. Would make a great alternative to the thumb glove. And also a few circular stickers as well, in addition to the long ones. Instead of boring red stickers, maybe something elegant like rose gold would make a nice touch. It'd definitely make a great differentiator.) #4. Love That They Included The Golden Tremolo Chain I'm not sure how many kalimbas include this as an accessory, this is something I definitely liked having. Especially having an easy place to hook the chain being built-in. Very thoughtful. If you're not sure how to use the chain, watch some of the videos above. Some incredible sound effects there. #5. I Like Hand Rest Grooves On The Left & Right Of The Kalimba Not sure how much this I rely on this. But it has probably added an extra level of comfort. Especially when playing for long periods of time. #6. Their Company Support Seems To Be Pretty Awesome Sent them an email and they got back to me pretty quickly. Other than that, they seem to be pretty responsive to people asking questions and those with problems in the reviews. So it seems like a good company to do business with. Not enough companies focus on their customers these days... #7. Glad That It Comes With A 30 Day Money Back Guarantee I understand that no matter how good the product, there's always times when there's going to be some lemons (defective items) in a big batch. So this really gave me some peace of mind. Because I would be really pissed if I rolled the wheel of luck, and accidentally got a lemon and couldn't return it. Well, mine got here perfect anyway. So I'm glad. #8. The Sound Is Incredible I think this needs no other explanation. . . Anyways, I'm loving it so far. So thanks for a great product!

Without divulging too much information, I bought this for self-therapy because I enjoy listening and playing music. The product is pretty solid and beautiful. I love the sound of the lower notes (the higher notes are not as clear but that's the nature of the instrument). The instrument is super easy to learn but a bit difficult to master. I think I will have to spend a few weeks to be able to play the songs I want to play! In addition to the product, I'm pretty amazed by the customer service Moozica. I contact one of them to ask about the key and they gave me a detailed explanation, not to mention the response was super quick! If you love music and playing your favourite songs, I say go for it and give this a try. I think it's an excellent item for beginners :)
