More so, it was just a cute spoon that I'd be able to feed my baby and for simply that, it works great. The handle is very short and it isn't easy trying to get purees out of jars. This, however, would be perfect for parents who are trying to do BLW feeding for baby. My 5 month old is easily able to grasp the spoon and feed himself. The utensils are made with a few little nooks and crannies, which can be frustrating to clean if you've left them out with food dried on it - but after soaking or just some good scrubbing, it's easy enough! If your baby is teething, I'd be cautious to not let them chew on them. I don't think they'd last too long if that were the case. It stains so easily. I used it once for barely a couple minutes I’ve tried washing it several times and even left it soaking in baking soda but it still stained. Not worth the price at all. **Q: Is the size and shape of these actually helpful for toddlers learning to use utensils?** A: Bumkins Silicone Chewtensils are designed as training utensils for babies to learn self-feeding. **Q: Are they too small for a 2.5 toddler to use?** A: My 9 month old grandson uses them they are designed so they wont go in their mouth all the way. I will say these particular ones are smaller then others I have seen. They are about the size of a pic lighter in length.
