- Dr. Brown's Soothe Pro Baby Formula Powder, 12 Ounce

This formula literally changed my baby's life. We were giving him Kendamil Organic since he was 1 month old, but he was very gassy and pooping eight times a day, and he developed severe skin rash. After a month, I switched to regular Kendamil due to the presence of some probiotics that the organic one doesn’t have. It helped about 20% overall, but it was still far from ideal. After many complaints to his pediatrician, she gave us a sample of Soothe Pro, and it was a change like night and day. From day one, he started pooping once a day, and the gas reduced dramatically. We also noticed that he struggled a lot to poop before, and now he is much calmer while doing it. The skin rash is now gone as well. As nothing is perfect, it does have some downsides, but nothing that affects my review, as my baby’s happiness is what really matters. This formula doesn’t mix as easily as Kendamil. We need to shake it much more to avoid formula clumps inside the bottle, but that creates more air bubbles. Due to the presence of iron, the poop turns a dark color and the smell is horrible—really strong and nothing compared to how it was before. Lastly, the packaging could have more features like Kendamil does, such as a place to store the scoop to avoid touching the powder with your hand and a flat edge to level the scoop. Overall, I highly recommend it!

EDIT: My baby did well with this formula. We slowly transitioned to this formula from an amino acid based formula. She’s been doing well on it. Bowel movements have been good on it. My baby has reflux and it’s the same on this formula as it was before switching over. However, I do think it is improving because of age. Will edit once my daughter has been on it for at least a week So far here’s what I love about it considering my baby is tube fed and has reflux: -The osmolality is low. 207 for 20kcal. -This bigger sized can will last us way longer than the other formulas we have tried in the past. And it’s still a better deal. -The formula itself has no harsh or strong smell -The formula looks very fresh and fluffy

Most of the complaints are about the the scoop being too big for Dr. Brown's bottles, but this formula is a lifesaver. Baby no longer screams from stomach troubles. We tried Similac (sensitive and pro-sensitive) and Infamil before switching to this on our pediatrician's recommendation. She says the protein is much easier for the baby's stomach to break down. I also use Dr. Brown's bottles and while the scoop isn't ideal for those, it's not a big deal. Just get a funnel if you are having problems with the scoop. They are like $2-3 and make the process so much easier. Baby still has a spit up issue, but I think that might be my fault due to how I'm mixing the formula. I was shaking it vigorously, but I read a swirl motion is better for reducing the air bubbles and subsequent spit up. Either way, the issues with this formula can be worked around, the important thing is that baby likes it and it doesn't hurt his stomach.

It does help with gas pains, it does not taste very good

Great formula. Helped with fussiness and spit up. Hate the scoop is so far down in the can. Wish it had a better design so the scoop can be in the lid.also a ready to option would be nice. Overall this a good formula that is well tolerated and affordable. Love the deal Amazon was having on this brand.
