I was expecting poster board thin particle board but it was surprisingly thicker and heavier. It’s about half of the thickness as the MDF boards you’d find at Home Depot. It needs to be sanded and primed for a smooth finish. It was perfect for the project I had in mind. I did have some trouble hiding the separation of the straight boards, even with filler. Not sure why the boards aren’t exactly the same thickness, but it’s very slight & probably not noticeable to anyone but me. Overall, it was worth avoiding the hassle of buying MDF and cutting these myself.

I used these in our main-floor bathroom to add some color and texture to an otherwise pretty basic space, and I'm very happy with how they turned out. What I found especially useful is that I didn't have to use the pieces exactly as they came. I cut them down to make them a little shorter for my particular wall, and the MDF made that customization very easy. They were also easy to paint and install, which made it possible to create a custom-look. For installation, I used finishing nails and spackling to fill in gaps. I also used caulk a the top and inside the arch to give it a smooth overall look. After about 9 months, I'm still very happy with the finished result. The arched shape gives the wall much more visual interest than a standard rectangular molding, and I've had quite a few compliments on the finished look. For my bathroom project, these gave me exactly the pop of color and texture I was looking for, and I haven't found another similarly easy-to-install arched option that gives quite the same look.
