The rubber on the bottom is quite slick on oily/greasy surfaces in the beginning, but most boots are when they're brand new; nothing a little scraping and sliding around on some pavement and gravel won't fix. Can't comment much on the inner soles as I use orthotic inserts, but everywhere else, they're quite comfortable!
