Schreiber Whole Milk, Uncooled Durable Milk, Low Fat with Vitamin A & D, 907.2 g (Pack of 6)

I don’t have a huge refrigerator, so I didn’t really get to indulge my dairy love much. Until I found these shelf stable cartons. They’re a bit more expensive than traditional milk but they taste just like they would if they were “fresh”. Since they’re 32oz I can easily pop one in my dorm sized fridge and store the rest away somewhere out of my way. Easy to take with you, though I’m not sure many people would take that amount of milk with them, though I sure would. Protein content is the same as a traditional 8oz serving, with 4 servings per carton that’s a win in my books.

This milk is so good. It stays fresh on the shelf so it’s available when you need it. I use it to make keifer and so when it’s time to make a new batch, I’ve got it on hand.

Since I started using this, I have not had sour milk. I don’t use a lot of milk so it tends to sit. Regular milk would often have turned within several days. Spares easily kept in the pantry for when I go on a cereal binge!

I'm old and I live alone. Regular store bought milk goes bad before I'm halfway through a carton. This stuff lasts forever, and remains fresh tasting, on the shelf and in the fridge. I began drinking shelf stable milk at sea in the Coast Guard and the Merchant Marine. It has all the flavour of whole milk, and that wasn't always the case. Don't know what improvements they made, but they got it right.

I like the taste of the shelf stable milk, but I put it in the freezer for a few hours and it will ice up to be more like a slushy drink. The one thing I don't like is the inner lining which looks like aluminum. Aluminum is not something that humans can ingest without issues over time.
