truefree DS1 Open-Ear Headphones, Bluetooth 6.0 Wireless Earbuds

Having carried out a good bit of research, I purchased the Truefree DS1 Open-Ear Headphones recently and I am delighted with them. The snug ear-hook design makes them really comfortable and secure, even during gym workouts and road running (while still allowing me to be fully awate of surrounding sounds like cars, bikes etc). The sound is clear and spacious, phone calls come through perfectly - probably related to the 4 mics on the headphones, and the 40-hour battery life is a huge plus, which is way longer than my previous headphones. . Fast charging and multipoint connection work seemlessy, and the IPX5 (waterprof) rating gives me peace of mind for outdoor use. Overall, fantastic value and performance, delighted with my purchase at such a competitive price.

At 19.99 these are an absolute bargain. Great, secure ear hold with all day comfort. Great sound. Fairly compact charge case with much appreciated actual charge percentages. I'm charging every other day. I only wish they'd have shown an actual picture of how to fit the additional covers (fit the narrow end to the socket). I lost one by fitting them the wrong way round.

I'm still not too sure how I feel about these. They are good quality, the sound is good and the fact that I can connect to multiple devices is literally brilliant....but although they "fit" the ear as in they work but they do not actually fit "in" my ear, they just hover over the ear opening...I'd like them to better. The rubber replacable ear plugs (for want of a better word) simply don't do anything as they seem to hover over my ear. Tried all 3 sizes of plugs. Probably my understanding of how these are supposed to fit but if I press the earphones into my ear they sound 3 x louder and the bass becomes so much better which leads me to think that they do not fit. What would make them fit is the rubber ring that goes around the ear should be made to bend to the shape I want, this would force the earphone closer to the ear and therefore be liuder. Despite all of this they are loud enough. In fact they are great, but I am left feeling that they could fit so much better. Great quality for the price. The charge capacity is good, the charging case is good but the lanyard that joins the two together is difficult to remove so that the earphones will fit in the case and charge. Case should be bigger to hold the lanyard as well otherwise you put the earphones in their case and then need to carry the lanyard separately....so I threw the lanyard away as constantly having to detach it was irritating.

One side of the ear stopped working just after 4 months. The previous one I had, the truefree 1 is better. This DS series is just crap

Okay, so because some of the reviews seem to be confused about the style of earplugs, these hook over the ear and sit outside of the ear so not pushed into the ear canal. They sit fine and are extremely light. The connection to phone is quite simply open the case and if your Bluetooth is on wait for both ear pieces lights to turn a solid blue and not flashing, the sound quality is very good and clarity is good, battery durability and length of time usage has not been tested yet but so far they're lasting quite a while, these will NOT block out outside noise from the ear because they don't sit in the ear canal, if you don't won't to hear the outside world whilst using these then don't buy them and buy ones that sit in the ear canal, I bought these because I can't find buds any that don't fall out, because I have small canals, if you buy these for exactly what they are designed for, then you won't be disappointed, however... The app that you don't need, if you download it, even if you select English.. some of it is still Chinese which is annoying

Compared to previous models, this new one is far more streamlined - the carry case is much smaller, and the earphones themselves more sleek. The audio quality is marginally improved also. Unfortunately, the right earbud has stopped retaining a charge after only 6 weeks, so is no longer functional. Amazon have thankfully agreed to take a return and refund for this. I previously purchased two Truefree 01 Open Ear earphones, one in September 2023, the other in November 2024. I also have a Truefree F2 purchased in November 2024. All of these are still fully functional. It's a shame that this latest model has Quality Assurance issues, because it initially looked like a worthy upgrade. Judging by other reviews, and the fact there is now a "Frequently Returned" warning banner on the listing, my experience is not an isolated one.

Some while ago I ordered Truefree 01 open ear buds and I have been happy with them, but the were not fantastic. I was looking for a replacement for them and when the DS1 was reduced to £19.98 I thought that I would try them. With the correct earpiece covers fitted they are far far better and the frequency range is excellent. They are very comfortable, more so than the 01. You need to download the Truefree app to get the best out of them. I recommend the purchase of these earbuds, especially at the price I purchased them

For the price, it's ok. Annoyances: tap recognition is very, very inconsistent, particularly on single-tap; the optional cord does not fit in the charger; the default plastic ear tips are useless (do Chinese folks really have such small ears?), and even with the other provided pairs it feels like a lot of the sound doesn't actually reach the ear, but it's rather dispersed in the surrounding environment (yes, people will hear what you're listening to). Overall, these look like a good budget choice for swimmers and other people who wear something on top of their ears, which can push the buds further inside the ear. Runners should probably look elsewhere. Note: the official app does not list them as supported on the store page, but they get detected and seem to work fine with it (mostly). You can change what taps are supposed to do (essential, since the default set of actions is weird), register the warranty, and in theory even upgrade the buds' firmware - although in my case the update fails after download.

Truefree DS1 earbuds after several weeks of using them daily. The overall build quality immediately stood out. The materials feel solid and well-engineered. The charging case and earbuds themselves feel well designed. The case incorporates a helpful display of charging status. Comfort has also been excellent. The earbuds sit securely without creating pressure or fatigue, even during extended listening sessions. It did take some getting used to the way the earpiece stopped short of the canal. With each use I appreciated them a little more to the point their presence is now barely noticeable. The audio is well-balanced and clear, with good detail across the range and a sense of separation. They perform consistently well across different types of content. Finally, multipoint connection support. The ability to seamlessly switch between devices works smoothly and reliably.

Ich nutze schon sein einigen Jahren kabellose Kopfhörer und bin jetzt bei meinem fünften Paar. Mein letztes Paar waren die Truefree O1 Kopfhörer, mit welchen ich bereits sehr zufrieden war. Leider habe ich irgendwann Probleme mit dem Akku in einem der Kopfhörer bekommen, weswegen ich nach einem neuen Paar suchte. Als ich die truefree EarFit DS1 Kopfhörer vor drei Monaten gekauft habe, war ich ziemlich überrascht. Für einen ähnlichen Preis wie vorherige Kopfhörer, die ich genutzt habe, habe ich Kopfhoerer bekommen, die alle Probleme, welche ich mit den Vorherigen hatte, behoben haben. - Man kann sich mit mehreren Geräten gleichzeitig verbinden (Der Ton läuft trotzdem nur auf dem Gerät, welches momentan etwas spielt), daher muss man nicht zwischen Handy und PC hin und her wechseln. - Die Kopfhörer sind kleiner und setzen besser im Ohr, haben auch meiner Meinung nach trotzdem einen besseren Klang. Die Ladebox ist auch deutlich kleiner und passt besser in die Hosentasche. (Im Bild gibt es eine 1 Euro Münze zum Vergleich) - Der Spielmodus scheint hier sehr gut zu funktionieren. Die Latenzzeit ist sehr gering und der Ton spielt ohne Abbrüche. - Das Pairing zu neuen und vorhanden Geräten erfolgt schnell und reibungslos. - Obwohl die Kopfhörer Open-Ear sind, drängt der Ton nicht bemerkbar nach außen, außer man stellt den Ton auf die maximale Lautstärke. Damit kann ich die Kopfhörer auch im Büro nutzen, ohne die Anderen zu stören. Insgesamt gefallen mir die Kopfhörer sehr und ich würde sie weiterempfehlen.

With my addiction to headphones and earbuds I was keen to try the new Trufree product. First thing I notice it that they are ascetically pleasing. The case has a nice texture that looks good and is functional was it is easy to grip and hold on to. Easy to fit into your pocket. The led display of the remaining battery is much nicer (and useful) that a few red dots. The fit is good for my ears. As they are not lodged deep in my ears they are very comfortable to wear for hours. They are light enough that you don't notice you are wearing them. The bluetooth connection is very quick and easy. I love that I can connect them to my phone and to my iPad simultaneously . The sound is great, good base. For the price point they punch much above their weight. Looks like my new favourite earbuds for now!

For its price, it's quite stylish, practical, and high-quality. I enjoy using it.

Mi experiencia con los truefree DS1 ha sido excelente. Son mis primeros auriculares de este tipo y los elegí basándome en las buenas referencias que había leído. Puedo decir que no me han defraudado en absoluto. Son muy cómodos y he podido llevarlos durante horas sin sentir molestias. Aunque había leído algunas reseñas que mencionaban el tamaño de las orejas y el ajuste, en mi caso la ergonomía ha sido perfecta: se sienten seguros y nada intrusivos. En el interior de la caja vienen unas gomas adaptadoras para mejorar aún más la comodidad; en mi caso no he notado una gran diferencia respecto a las que vienen montadas de serie, pero es un detalle que se agradece. No los he probado aún en espacios abiertos ni haciendo deporte, pero en mis desplazamientos caminando se mantienen firmes. No he tenido necesidad de usar el cable de seguridad anti caída, aunque me parece un valor añadido muy recomendable. La autonomía es realmente buena, lo que permite utilizarlos durante largas jornadas sin preocuparse por la batería. Además, la referencia visual de carga tanto en los auriculares como en el estuche facilita controlar el nivel restante y regular mejor los ciclos de carga. La configuración es sencilla e intuitiva, con varias opciones para personalizar el sonido. Aunque la configuración predeterminada ya ofrece una calidad notable, he probado otras que se adaptan mejor a distintas condiciones de escucha. El sonido espacial aporta una experiencia envolvente y los cuatro micrófonos garantizan llamadas claras incluso en entornos con ruido. El alcance del Bluetooth 6.0 también me ha sorprendido: he podido mantener conversaciones fluidas a una distancia considerable del móvil e incluso con alguna barrera arquitectónica de por medio. En resumen, unos auriculares muy recomendables por su comodidad, autonomía, facilidad de uso y rendimiento general. Una compra con la que estoy realmente satisfecho.
