Good product - I have watched videos on this that say to use about a rice grain amount for a 10 gal tank. This is less then the directions. I use a rice grain size amount about 1 or 2 times a week. It seems to work as I do see shrimp shrimp of all sizes constantly foraging. I mix the rice size amount in a cup with some dechlorinated water and pour it around the tank. The shrimp seem to be feeding on it immediately. If it does promote bio film in the tank they probably eating it before I can see it. I tried adding it directly to the tank but since it is a very fine powder it floats on the surface. I think it eventually sinks but mixing it in a cup seems to work much better. I did try mixing a scoop with some water in a bowl and left it for a few days. I did see what looked like bio film forming in the bowl so I do think it works. I will continue to use this as it doesnt seem to harm the shrimp but instead seems to be or helps form something they like to eat. The container has enough to last a long time for the amount I am feeding so I believe it is money well spent.
