Question 1

I have a 20 foot sailboat with seriously oxidized gelcoat.  How much surface area will the 32oz bottle cover?

One bottle will be more than enough, but if she is heavily oxidized don't kill yourself with only buffing.  If it has white chalking go straight to a 1000 grit wet sandpaper, and follow-up with a 1500, 2000, and maybe even 3000.  If you use 3000 you'll probably only have to buff once, up to three times without it.  Don't use the dimpled pads, those are better for soft paints more than gelcoat.  A good wool buffing pad, or a solid orange foam pad from Harbor Freight gives fantastic results.  The Mequiar's microfiber cutting pad is almost unbeatable for heaving cutting/polishing of gelcoat and does the work faster than anything else I've seen.

Buffing alone with Mequiar's will make it shine but the sanding brings out the true gelcoat colors.  When you compare a severely oxidized area that has been buffed, between sanded and unsanded, you won't believe the difference.  This is not a fast processes, but you can make it look like new (minus the deep scratches).  Just to do the outside of a deeply oxidized hull and to make it look practically new again, I'd expect 20 hours for your boat.

Under the assumption you are using a high speed rotary buffer we would typically suggest this be used between 1500-1700 rpm.

Will this work on a fiberglass, thirty year old golf cart that was once white?

It should, I would recommend trying to wash it with dish soap first, to break up and remove any and all oils, wax, polish and icky stuff off the cart. Then look at it without that stuff on it, you may want to try a polish first before having to do all of this. I have found that Chemical Guys has a tester kit for $20.00 it comes with 4 different bottles that is plenty to do a golf cart and your car and probably 3 other vehicles depending on their size. :0) Use any of these in a small area first with an applicator pad, however a dual action polisher would probably be faster and easier on you.  This Marine RV stuff is hard to get off once you put it on. It has to be applied by machine to get any real results. About 28 oz. Product did not work on my 2015 gel coat on my Eclispe Milan. The meguiar's cleaner wax worked better at removing oxidation and put a better shine
