For adults, a little bit of alcohol is wonderful for those hot summer nights. The machine is not very loud, but does make a low hum as it turns and makes your drink. I've had this machine for 3 months now and have not noticed any signs of wear and tear. Seems like a pretty solid piece of equipment.
