Works great with Alexa and Samsung tv
I normally don’t leave reviews but this thing works great. Our new Samsung tv doesn’t allow Alexa to pause or resume. I created a scene in the Broadlink device then created a routine in Alexa and it works great. I wasn’t able to put this behind the tv successfully but I do have it about 50 feet away on top of my kitchen cabinet hidden by the cabinets trim and it works every time.

DO NOT PURCHASE!
If I could give zero stars I would. First it only works with 2.4mhz & 5mhz wifi. Then NONE of the QR codes worked in app. I was able to manually find & start the set up, and the app could see the smart remote, but it kept timing out when trying to connect to the router. I even sat in the same room next to the router & it couldn't communicate. There is little to no actual help in troubleshooting & I emailed the seller & got no response. I will be returning this product. Don't waste your money or time!

A good functional product, negatively impacted by incomplete instructions
Works very well, but setup is challenging. Because this is a newer product, the product literature and software doesn't list it as a seperate model. This does lead to alot of trial and error. They say they have a extensive infra-red remote catalog, but most of my items were not in there and even when you find it. There's multiple listings and trial and error to determine which one works best. If you have a working remote, this works amazingly well to capture the infrared signal. I've noticed a few bugs in the user interface but doesn't prevent you from recording your remote. Otherwise, a good functional product, negatively impacted by incomplete instructions.

Not fully functional.
Not what was going on here. Seems this is a new product that hasn’t had proper testing I was able to get the app downloaded and get this on my WiFi but when trying to send or learn any signals it was unresponsive. Tried ti run firmware update and same thing the loading screen on the app just sat there. It’s also not currently supported by the BroadLink add on for home assistant without manual code changes, and you have to already have one BroadLink device in order you get into the code packages returning and purchasing an rm4 hopefully with more success.

Nice device
Takes a little bit to setup but works really good once setup. Really works perfect except they had BAD Instructions. I will give you here. (1. Have to download the Broadlink app first. 2. Create Brodlink account. 3. once created and device is configured in the app you can then link the app to Google Home or Alexa. 4. In the app go to voice under settings and select link google home or alexa.) Now all i have to do is say "Hey Google" "Turn on the TV" and boom. Love it!

Use Main Broadlink App
Little manual said use Broadlink Magic Home App or The Broadlink App. I tried the Magic Home as it should work like magic - lost several hours on it and no link up with RM5. Tried the "Broadlink" App and had it up and running in about 30 min. Forget the magic - all smoke and mirrors. Gets nicked one star for the bum Magic App.

Support Confirms: No Support for LAN Control
Do NOT buy if you rely on the “Lock Device” feature for Homebridge, HOOBS, etc. This device does not support being open to the LAN and will be locked from the factory. As a result, community projects will be unable to control this device locally. I would buy the older gen RM4
