Can this be used in a microwave?

I have a couple of these in different brands. One has wire tying the laps together and I can't recall which one it is. If it's 100% bamboo then I don't see why it couldn't be used in the microwave. Other than the fact that you're not steaming at that point. Kinda defeats the whole purpose, if you ask me.

I have yet to purchase this Joyce Chen Bamboo Steamer and wonder how you make sure that it is cleaned properly after use,

It's literally self cleaning. Hot water and steam will kill all bacteria, if you're still concerned then I'd take a small bristle brush and gently scrub

Perfect for Homemade Dumplings and Vegetables

This bamboo steamer is well made and very easy to use. It heats food evenly and keeps dumplings, vegetables, and buns moist without making them soggy. The two-tier design lets me steam multiple items at the same time, which saves time in the kitchen. It feels sturdy, cleans up easily, and looks great as well.

Great for cooking veg, japanese starters and other

Bought this and love the baskets. They work really well for cooking vegetables and gyoza particularly. Put baking paper in to cook gyoza or bao buns and came out really nicely. Can recommend this product.
