Easy setup - works, no fuss
I recently purchased a rat trap bucket, and I couldn't be more satisfied with its performance. This trap is incredibly easy to use—simply bait it (peanut butter) and place it in an area where you've noticed rodent activity. The design ensures that rats drop into the bucket without any fuss, making disposal straightforward and hassle-free.What I appreciate most is the simplicity of the whole process. No complicated mechanisms or messy cleanup—just an efficient way to manage a rat problem. Plus, the bucket is durable and holds up well outdoors or indoors. If you’re looking for an effective and user-friendly solution for rat control, I highly recommend this trap. It does exactly what it promises, and it makes dealing with unwanted guests much easier!

best traps out there.
caught multiple mice so don't need to keep resetting traps. great for when i can't be there every day to check traps. i leave a little peanut butter up the tracks going up to the bucket on each side. place it along the wall for best. works awesome for garages or storage buildings in the winter.

Didn’t fool the rats.
Didn’t work at all. Rats too clever, once it starts rolling they loose interest and move on.

Didn’t work
Don’t know how if it was a user malfunction but haven’t caught anything and it’s been weeks now.. installation is pretty straight forward.. used peanut butter and some wild bird seed.. maybe wrong bait idk. Still seeing mice so I finally caved and bought mouse poison...

Good concept and design.
This was easy to set up and seems to function well and as it should. Unfortunately we have not had any luck with it. I imagine it's user error and we just have not found the best place for it. It spins really well and it is sturdy in design. The peanut butter we used hasn't been eaten. It was also the perfectly sized for a 5 gallon bucket. I really just think we would have better luck in our garage since it has way less traffic. This being a 5 gallon bucket makes it tricky to try and conceal. And the ramps coming off of both sides add to that. Keep in mind for placement.

Finally, a better mousetrap!
Living on a small farm, mice are simply a fact of life and as long as they stay out of the house, garage, and shop I'm fine. It is only when they come inside that they become pests.Over the years I've tried about every mouse trap on the market from the trusty old snap trap to modern live traps, sticky boards, and even a few professional electronic devices, and all with about the same lack of success. Several months ago I came across the rolling mouse trap and thought, "Oh, what the heck, give one a try." Best move I've made in quite a while! The roller assembly comes pre assembled and ready to mount in your bucket of choice. It fits perfectly in the buckets I bought from the local hardware store by drilling two 1/4" holes in the rim and the threaded rod used for the axle also acts as a landing for the ramps I made from some old 1 x 2 boards. Baited with some peanut butter smeared on the roller it is 100% effective. Mice smell the bait, run up the inclined boards (I use about a 30 degree angle), walk out onto the roller , and fall into the bucket. In a tall bucket (5 or 6 gallon) they can't jump back out and it works as a live trap, add about 2" of water with a 1/2 teaspoon of dish washing soap and they quickly drown. These traps average 3-4 mice a night and are the best value I have ever found. Since I started using them the mouse population around the house, garage, and shop has dropped to almost zero! Another plus is that I don't have to worry about kids or pets getting hurt by spring loaded traps or poisons! Great trap, great value, I highly recommend!

Very effective mousetrap
This rolling mousetrap did it - I cleaned up the attic, basement and I am now on the chicken coop. The ring is key – they can’t walk across the bucket and fall down. Don’t buy one without a ring. The spin roller is light and designed very symmetrically to spin freely so the suckers don’t stay on it for long. I like that it auto resets and there is no reloading needed. I also don’t have to touch dead mice – just dump the bucket. And it’s safe for my dog. Assembly takes 5min if you have the bucket.A few general tips:- Works with any standard 5 gallon bucket. Fill with water and add soap to make the walls extra slippery- You can line up the drill holes if you want, of you can cut notches at the top of the bucket with a knife and lay the trap in the notches so you don’t have to line up holes- Use the bucket handle mounting holes as a guide for lining the rod- Keep the ramp in line with the roller to make it easier for the mice to get to the bait. But I was catching them with a really scrappy ramp as well- Don’t tighten the nuts too much, it should spin freely. Lubricate the end points for extra spin – machine or kitchen oil will do fine, as well as petroleum jelly- Distribute the bait/peanut butter on all sides of the rolling log to make sure it spins well with bait on- This is not the best option for 6-8” big rats

Did not work! Just a gimmick.
I put one of these on a bucket with water, baited and waited. The mice never got tricked into the bucket. Baited again multiple times. Also, I added additional boards to help mice get to top edge of the bucket. However, the mice are too clever, fast and smart! The only way I caught any mice into a bucket was when I opened the lid to my compost container, startled the mice and one accidentally jumped into a bucket while fleeing! I think the YouTube videos that show these sorts of gadgets working are with pet mice, not real wild mice. Wild mice are too fast and clever to fall for these. Also, the rubber black washer turned nasty. After a week or so, it basically started melting. When I cleaned the trap to put away, it got back gooey stuff on everything and was hard to clean off. Not sure what I'll use this for now and not sure if I can still return. Will try.
