VL60 proS recommended
I have not taken a long trip with the VL60 proS yet, but have tested it extensively in my 78 degree shop. I am very impressed with it. A few observations: first, it’s heavy. About 60 pounds, empty. And it’s wide enough that one person can’t grab both handles and move it. At least I can’t. Not a big deal, but just so you know. And it’s big. The interior is about 2 cubic feet. Plenty of room for everything you need. I set it for 37 degrees and let it cool down, which took less than an hour. Then I loaded it with stuff from my regular fridge. I did not stuff it absolutely full. You need to leave room for air flow for efficient operation. That said, the more stuff you put in it—up to a point—the more efficiently it will run. I put a little Govee Bluetooth thermometer inside at the bottom center of the main section. At a setting of 37, the Govee read 40. Good enough. The FDA recommends that refrigerated foods should be kept at or below 40. I’m sure if I set it at 33 or 34, the actual temperature would have been lower than 40. Of course, the lower you set it, the more power it consumes. So if power is an issue for you, strike a balance. I don’t think the digital display on the front accurately reflects the temperature inside, so I would recommend using something like my Govee to make sure you get a better reading. The compressor ran for about 4 to 5 minutes every 20 minutes, almost like clockwork. And on the ECO setting, it draws only about 3.5 amps. Less than I expected. And it’s pretty quiet. I could certainly sleep next to it. On a 90-degree afternoon, I decided to try it as a freezer. I set it for zero, and let it cool down. It took a long time, but I neglected to get the exact time. In my shop (at 78 degrees) it got down to 5 degrees. That’s as low as it would go. At that temperature, the compressor runs continuously, so bear that in mind. I loaded it in the back of my car, plugged it into the cigarette lighter socket, and drove 30 minutes to the supermarket. I bought ten pints of ice cream. (I know, but I wanted to make it worth my while.) On the 30 minute drive back home the fridge maintained 8 degrees. So you could use it as a freezer, but I’m not sure I would recommend it. I don’t know if it’s a good idea to let the compressor run continuously like that. It comes with a basket for the main section. I’ll probably look around for a basket for the smaller section. Otherwise anything you store up there is just going to fall into the main section. For best results, chill everything you want to put in it in advance in your regular fridge. Once you have it full and down to 40 or so, then you can put a few cans of room temperature soda in it and it won’t matter. All things considered, I am really happy with it, and would absolutely recommend it.

works well, basket is an issue.
I have used this at more than a dozen festivals with a battery and solar panel. It usually pulls 60w which is nice. My main complaint is half the basket has no ledge to sit on. This means that half the basket has to be propped up with whatever you have in the fridge below it, and once you your items are not high enough to prop up the basket so its level then every time you open the fridge the basket falls downwards making it a pain to close the lid. Especially if the basket is full of food. You would have thought the engineers would of thought of this...Otherwise the fridge works well. Could have a better seal on it, but not a major issue.

ICECO VL60 Pro Series - Highly recommended off grid fridge
This fridge has been fantastic! I love the functionality of the lid to open from either side, or be completely removed. The fridge comes with a few additional replacement parts (corner bumpers, drain plug, and extra carry handle). Nice to know IF any of these parts ever fail, I have a backup. I had one of the hinge pieces crack after a year or so of use, and customer service has been helpful in getting me a replacement. I highly recommend the ICECO products. Update 3/31/2026: I recently encountered another issue, which has been identified likely as a problem with the compressor. I contacted ICECO customer service, and after exchanging a few emails to troubleshoot, they have offered to replace the unit. I’ve had a few issues in 3 years of owning this fridge; however, I continue to be extremely satisfied with the ICECO brand - I don’t expect these types of products to be bulletproof, and a portable fridge being shuffled around outdoors, being exposed to elements, and put through the paces is bound to have some issues.. ICECO’s customer service thus far has been amazingly responsive and resolves issues quickly.

Great product and service
Great cooler, gets really cold and fits a ton of bottles and cans for parties. Also great customer service, very responsive, courteous and technically knowledgable. I'll consider ICECO products first for all things cooling.

Versatile, efficient and just badass
This thing has been incredibly reliable and very easy to use. Plug it into my truck via AC plug while driving to camp, then once we get to the site, we switch to DC using the portable DC bank. The most I've seen this thing draw at once is 45W, but once it gets cold it goes between 30 and 10W, so its super efficient. Love the lid system that can open from either side of just remove the whole lid - This is especially useful when loading initially. Had an issue with the fridge after awhile of using it and ICECO customer service was very responsive and was able to fix the issue within a few days. Highly recommend this unit (VL60 PRO).
