Excellent out of the box . . .
. . . and only time will reveal the true quality. As/if things change, I'll let you know :)Probably the first thing folks want to know about chairs like this is "How high is the seat?' So, when new out of the box the maximum seat height abpve the floor is 34" unoccupied, 32" with 120lb load, and 31" with 235lb load. Minimum seat height is 26". Those heights are with the feet installed; if you use the casters add 1".The foot rest is 16.5" below the seat. At 5'8", my lower leg is ~15" long with shoes on, so my thighs are slanted slightly down when seated. It is extremely comfortable for me, and I find it an excellent work position. Of course, YMMV :)The instructions are clear and the chair was easy to assemble in about 10 minutes including the time to unbox and check contents. The chair feels solid and is stable in use. The only other thing I can add is - out of the box - it is exactly what you'd hope to get from the pictures. As said above, time will tell :)

Absolutely Superb Drafting Chair
Looking for chair/stool for wife's painting work -- Couple of requirements: comfort, back-support, elevation mainly -- Found myself looking at drafting chairs as the elevation factor seemed to be a major feature of this type of chair -- Pleasantly surprised at the high-level of quality of this chair along with the 36" elevation -- Instructions were clear and the chair is incredibly sturdy and comfortable -- A superb value in a quality chair.

Nice high chair for grown ups
I built a computer work station for use while sitting or standing. Only after it was set up did I realize my tallest drafting chair was still not tall enough for comfortable seating. I shopped Amazon for a chair tall enough (seat minimum 35" from the floor) and it quickly became apparent my choices were limited. In fact, this is the only chair I found that met the height spec. Since it was inexpensive, I placed an order without much hesitation. The chair arrived quickly and was simple to assemble. A power screwdriver with a hex bit was very useful, but a hex wrench tool is included so it can be assembled by hand. The chair comes with optional swivel wheels and also pad feet, if you don't want it to move. Nice option, since getting into and out of the chair this tall can be awkward if it tends to roll. I use the wheels, but I put a cinderblock on the floor next to the chair, which I use as a step-up. You might want to consider something like that for safety and convenience. The chair is stable and comfortable. The footrest is a nice feature which adds comfort, but the chair can be assembled without it. Overall appearance is not bad, its utilitarian and not particularly stylish. I took off a star for two reasons:1) The black vinyl cover. I prefer a cloth cover but was unable to find that option. Vinyl doesn't breath and is icky uncomfortable in warm weather (but easy to clean). Its also a little slick which may make it a little less easy for some people to climb into the chair. A minor point, but I would have preferred a more neutral grey color.2) The backrest is not adjustable. This is where the star came off. You may get lucky and find its exactly where you want it. For me, its too far back and there's nothing I can do about it except attach a pillow or something. But the elevation is about right.I'm happy with this chair as its the right height and the price was reasonable. It feels comfortable enough and the piston works properly. At the maximum elevation of 36" the seat sinks about 1" when an adult is sitting in it, which puts it at exactly the right height for me. I've sat on it for a few days and did not lose any altitude. I did read some customers complain that the piston becomes unreliable after use. (I've experinced this with other office chairs and used a section of PVC pipe cut to the right height, slipped over the piston to prevent altitude loss.)In summary if you need a really tall office chair, this might be your only option. Its a good chair.

Foot stool too weak; can't lean
I have a standing desk. Thought this kind of chair would be nice. Sadly, the seat is too deep to comfortably sit on. The foot bar is weak. You don't want to put much weight on it. Due to the seat design, you can't use it as a leaning stool either. It won't support your butt. You'll slide off. Maybe good for other people. At 6' I can't figure out how to use it properly.

Great chair, once assembled
Once assembled, the chair is solid and of great quality. I love the fact that it came with two types of casters, ones with wheels and ones without. The foot rest is in a good position and the seat reaches a height that I needed for my standing desk. I use the chair when I don't feel like standing or want to rest my legs, and I don't need to lower my desk since it gets high enough. The only complaint I have, as is the case with many items that require assembly, are the unclear instructions that do not have you assemble the pieces in the correct order. I had to remove the base after following instructions, because the next step required me to screw the back piece on, but two of the screw holes were being blocked by the base piece. Same with the foot rest. They tried to list all instructions by using one picture with a bunch of lines and numbers, but it would have been best to use multiple steps with progressive pictures.

Great Chair and Good Value !!
I had come close to spending more than twice what this cost on a chair from U-Line. I bought this for my workshop to replace a Lowes workstool that was not adjustable or very comfortable. I spend a lot of time working at my bench and this is perfect. Well made, nicely padded and very easy to put together. Weight limit 205 lbs. Only improvement would be a locking device to keep it from turning while in use but a footstool does the trick if you have it in the raised position where your feet don't touch the floor. Very pleased with this purchase !

Two chairs ordered, both severely crooked
Both chairs had several broken plastic pieces. I could have ignored that but the metal seat base that attaches to the hydraulic post was welded on at a very crooked angle. There's isn't a good fix for this as you'd have to use washers totaling 3/8 inch at the bolts to adjust for the difference and that is a really bad idea.I wish I had noticed before I assembled the first as now I have to disassemble to return it and getting the hydraulic post out is a giant pain.

Super tall
Dude, this leather task chair with a gas lift is the MVP of office chairs. It goes super high and feels sturdy as an horse. Perfect for my standing desk at home, it lets me adjust to any height I need. The leather is smooth, the lift is seamless, and the stability is rock solid. It’s like sitting on a mountain. If you need a chair that’s ultra-functional and built to last, this is it.

Sturdy, good value, tall
I wanted a tall chair for my painting station that is mounted on a tripod. I primarily paint standing up, but like to sit when I get fatigued. This chair is tall enough so I don't have to adjust my tripod when I need to sit. It feels sturdy and well built. Easy to assemble.

Functional chair that met needs well
Styling could have been a bit more modern.

Several missing or broken parts, and a major defect in the frame
Seriously- don’t buy this chair unless you have extra screws and enough mechanical knowledge to assemble it in spite of defects - the footrest plate (where it screws into the bottom of the seat ) was soldered on crooked - so it did not align properly over the holes in the seat bottom. I drilled and tapped a new hole to make it work , but most folks would not want to bother with this. Additionally there weren’t enough screws and the plastic base cover was broken. My conclusion is the vendor is selling “seconds” (defective units). I strongly advise against purchasing.
