API POND ECOFIX SLUDGE DESTROYER Bacterial cleaner, Pond Water Clarifier and Sludge Remover Treatment 16-Ounce Bottle

This stuff worked great! My father built a pond in his backyard that had some koi in it as well as plants and would maintain it by hand without any chemicals. My father was no longer able to take care of the pond and it started to build up bad with algae and sludge just hanging off the waterfall no matter how much I skimmed the pond. I was freaking out, it was my fathers pride and joy. I bought this and I used it along with algae fix. I started out VERY slow because of a few reviews I seen about it harming fish, but also because I had no clue how many gallons the pond was (I had to use my math skills to come up with an idea) I put it in at night thinking it would be better because it was cooler at night and applied it right into the waterfall.in the morning I went out to look and to my surprise it looked better, not a lot better but definitely not worse like it has been every morning. Next dispense I decided to add more than the last time, and I kept slowly adding more each time until I hit the recommended dosage for the amount of gallons I came up with. Within a week, maybe week and a half, the pond looked great. I could finally see the bottom. I made sure to buy a bunch for my step mom to use and set up a schedule to maintain it. This product saved my sanity.

I use this, along with the algae fix, each week to keep the algae in my pond in check. It doesn’t completely eradicate the algae, which is fine as the fish eat the algae, but it keeps the water clear and the algae from blooming out of control. Fish get a little squirmy for about 5 minutes after I apply it, so I can tell it disturbs them a bit, but they’ve been growing in my pond happily and healthily for 2.5 years. Birds use pond for bathing and drinking, and tree frogs reproduce like crazy, so it is definitely animal-friendly.

I’ll let the pictures and video do the most talking. Spring restart can always present water issues including debris and muck from the past season and into winter, and especially the biggest demon of all, String Algae. Finally, after many years of trial and error with different products.. I can tell you these are a must have! In about the span of a month, even with the Koi kicking up stuff from the bottom.. the water clarity went from barely able to see the fish, to what you see in the pictures and video now. Pond including waterfall is around 375 gallons +/- w/ a dual feed Tetra aerator that runs year round. I had no oxygenation issues nor did I see any behavioral change in the fish during any phase of use of either Eco Fox or Simply Clear.

Not a miracle worker but definitely helps clear outside pond water and decrease the sludge. I think adding catfish would help more.

I use this in my Yellow Bellied Cooter's 40 gallon tank. As turtle fans know turtle tanks are very hard to keep clean. This item works great to keep his water clean and clear. It also extends the time between filter cleanings and my turtle is very healthy, my turtle is 13 years old and 6 inches long.

While this does work, IMP, Seachem Pristine seems to work better (water clears up faster and nutrients drop faster) for my brackish water system.

Hood

My pond got filled with leaves this past fall. We tried to get them all out but they had started to decay and made a mess. We started using this along with the API algeacide and clarifier and in about 6 days it had removed most of the sludge. We run our fountain on full and have cleaned out the filter every other day and I would say probably 85% of the sludge is gone. We can actually see our fish now and I figure another weeks worth of treatment should do the trick.

Works really well, may be not as effective as the Fluval product a bit cheaper on the day.

Excellent. Noticeably improved clarity by reducing floating sediment in my 1500-litre pond within the first two weeks. It's so concentrated that there's a fair bit left over to continue dosing.

Does exactly what it says. It took about a week cleared all the sledge up..

Works very well as long as you keep it up as per instructions on bottle .The water is crystal clear now

Excellent. I used this regularly together with barley Straw extract from Pond Doctor and my pond is crystal clear without any harm to all the wildlife.
