Ethique Scalp Health Solid Shampoo Bar with Oatmeal, 3.88 oz

Having tried the sampler pack of the shampoo and conditioner bars I wasn't blown away with them but I did like them enough to make the switch from bottled shampoo. That is, I wasn't blown away until this shampoo bar (and the matching conditioner bar). Even after one use I knew this was the one. While I was a bit worried in the shower given my hair felt very clean and didn't feel super moisturized, the results after my hair dried were enough to convince me. My hair was so soft and shiny (and my waves looked so defined, I even had some curls! This has NEVER happened before!). Not to mention my hair was less frizzy than normal, which is HUGE for me! I've been able to go DAYS without my hair getting greasy: again another huge thing for me since I'm usually greasy the day after I wash my hair. I really hope they make this a permanent item because I'll be a forever buyer of this line! My hair type: Fine, wavy (2A/2B), frizzy, oily scalp and dry ends, chest-length Scent: As someone who isn't the biggest fan of lavender but loves eucalyptus, the way the bar smells is great. It had more of a natural/herbal scent than the other bars. The scent is far stronger on the bar and doesn't linger in your hair if that's something you worry about. After my hair dried, I couldn't smell either the lavender or the eucalyptus but it had a soft clean scent which I was okay with. Use: Having tried samples of Ethique's other products I found what worked best for my hair was as follows. First you have to get your hair super wet, for me I just leave my hair under the shower for 30 seconds or so then take the bar and create a lather in my hands and swipe that through my hair. I follow that with a rinse THEN take the bar and swipe it over my head (focusing on the top of my head, not the ends) 4 times. From there I build a lather in my hair and massage for about 30 seconds then rise. (I will note that my hair didn't feel as great as when I used a bottled shampoo but when I say this works, I mean IT WORKS). I follow up with the Kookabara conditioner (which I let sit for a minute or two) and rinse with lukewarm/cool water and that's it. Storage: I keep it on the side of my shower in a soap holder which seems to work fine since it's out of the water but I may invest in the Ethique soap container eventually. Just be sure to keep it out of the water (or shower if you can) as that may affect the longevity. Longevity: Having used this for 2 weeks, washing 3x one week then 2x the bars both look like they did when I bought them. This is going to last FOREVER! Pros: Cute sustainable packaging, purchase goes towards a great cause, longevity, ease of use, scent, light hydration, leaves hair SUPER shiny and voluminous Cons: Shampoo makes hair slightly tangled (my hair gets tangled super easily but I thought I would mention it) and it lasts forever? (I guess if you don't like committing to products this one isn't for you) Overall Rating: 9.5/10

Ive had this bar for months now. And its maybe gone down a tiny bit in size since I bought it. Its great for travel and it really helps with my hair. I do have to say tho it has a strong scent but for how well it work fro my hair I dont mind it as much. My hair gets very soft and feels moisturized after using. I feel as tho the price can be a lot at first but for how long it lasts it really pays off (lots of value for your money). The ingredients do not break me out as some other hair products do. The bar can weird at first but you get used to it. I have thick hair and it really gets all of it clean. The thickness of the bar is not too thick as one would think but its still foldable.

This is a good shampoo bar for anyone with oily hair. It lathers nicely and cleans hair without drying it out. My family have used Ethique bars for years. At first I hated the new shape and wasn't pleased about Ethique changing the formulas but this is shampoo is great at keeping my husband's greasiness under control. It smells nice and lasts a long time. We will never go back to bottled shampoo.

I am 1000% in love with this brand and their products. I've tried shampoo bars in the past and they leave residue because I live in an area with hard water. Since Ethique bars are SOAP FREE, there will be no residue left over! In my experience, the bars definitely last longer when you store them in a container, so they do not continue to get wet and melt. I bought my first bar in January, and still have plenty of use continuing into April. My shampoo bar does melt faster than my conditioner (The Guardian) because I shampoo twice. I have BARELY made a dent with my conditioner -- it really does last! I've started conditioning every day to cleanse my hair lightly, and the results are great. The biggest thing that I LOVE is that the shampoo and conditioner rinse out so easily and QUICKLY! As someone with long (2-3 inches from my bellybutton) and thick hair, rinsing out shampoo is a nightmare because I always have some bit of shampoo/conditioner leftover, making my hair/head greasy and itchy. Bonus because you're saving water! I can also leave a bit of conditioner in my ends as a leave-in conditioner. These bars are also incredibly travel friendly. The smell is pleasant and refreshing, and does not linger too long in your hair. Everything about this brand and shampoo+conditioner bars are wonderful. I've already ordered 5 more bars (sweet&spice, st.clements, and super hydrating)!
