Will 0.5 frixion refills in other colors work in these pens?

Yes, you can also use 0.38 refills. I change my colors frequently. Push down the clicker firm but gently pull out ink tube and replace with new refill.

Does this pen use the 0.5mm or 0.38mm refills? The name states 0.5mm but it shows "extra fine" on the pen which I thought was the 0.38mm tip. Thanks

I got 0.5 mm refills for mine. It is a very fine point, which I like because I use it to write in my calendar for work & it allows me to write smaller & still be legible. I LOVE that it can erase so cleanly & you can color code things with the different colors. It does seem to dry out easily if you don’t use it regularly & I use them so much I always keep extra refills on hand.

I would say No. Frixion ink must be a proprietary ink that disappears with heat and friction. The feel is similar to a gel pen, the color is not as vibrant as gel pens.
