I got this scanner to check my car's engine light without going to a mechanic. I wanted something simple for basic diagnostics and troubleshooting.This scanner really offers a lot for its size and price. It’s easy to use; just plug it into the OBD port and it shows codes clearly. The live data viewing is especially helpful. I like how it helped me pinpoint a sensor issue quickly. The screen is bright and easy to read, which makes everything straightforward. Plus, having multiple languages available is a nice touch. It lives up to my needs and I appreciate the real-time data it tracks without any fuss.It’s not as advanced as the high-end tools out there. If I needed deep diagnostics or manufacturer-specific codes, I’d have to look for a different option. But for basic checks and reading codes, this works well for me. Read and cleared codes AFTER i had to search online how to use it. It didnt come with an english user manual

I use this to clear codes and check whether my vehicle is ready to be smog tested. This small unit is very durable and easy to use. The display is large and easy to read. The buttons are durable. The data presented is accurate and this unit is compatible with all of my vehicles. I'm very impressed with the price and functionality of this unit. I highly recommend it and will be using it for a long time on my vehicles.

Say you can update it but there’s no usb port on it like the user Manuel says there is, only reads codes half the time and only does a partial live data stream Dosent read abs codes or anything other than engine related codes wouldn’t buy again I’ll save my money and get the better one next time

The OnRetul brand “V526 OBD2 Scanner Diagnostic Tool, Check Erase Engine Light Fault Code Scanner Tool, DTC, Data Stream, I/M Readiness, Car & Truck Scan Tool for All Vehicles Since 1996” is a $13 bummer.The description states “Compatible with over 98% of sedans, trucks, and SUVs produced by American manufacturers since 1996”, but I had no such luck.I tried it with a 2014 Tesla model S and a 2015 Nissan Leaf, with my minimum expected functionality to add a new keyfob. Nope.It failed to connect to the Nissan Leaf.It connected to the Tesla Model S, but had no functionality beyond showing voltage.

The media could not be loaded. I'll be honest, I've never used one of these car testers, but I felt it was quite easy. It's basically plug and play, once you locate your car's OBD.This OBD2 reader provides a good deal of info that can be used to diagnose engine issues.When I used it on a friend's car, it turned out he needed an O2 sensor.This tester was able to sniff out that issue pretty quick.It's a nice scanner tool.For the price (7/2025) it's worth having it in a tool box, so you don't go down any rabbit holes.
