It is very heavy duty and extremely adjustable. After getting it set up to where you want it you will probably have some extra hanging straps to cut off unless you're real big. Takes a little practice to get the hang of drawing and replacing the sword but that's to be expected. Wipe it down real good before trying it on or wear a black shirt because it will leave dirt on a light color. Back mounting a sword is not historically correct but it sure looks cool and if done right very practical. For anyone who is have trouble drawing the sword you probable have it adjusted to tight. I started out on the third hole from the top and couldn't draw the sword. After looking in the mirror I noticed that it was putting stress on the sword. I kept letting it out until it hung naturally which put me in the eighth hole from the top and the buckle on my stomach instead of my chest. I can now put it on without unbuckling it. I'm also going to bend the two leather covered metal bars out a little to make it easier to catch the guard on the sword when putting the it back in. Review: Good looking, durable leather - I purchased this baldric to hold a bastard sword I had recently acquired. The blade came without a sheath or scabbard, and had no way to fit into the sword belt I already owned. As I was going to be wearing this sword for a kid's birthday party, I needed some way to carry the sword around, without possibly impaling a child on the blade. This worked pretty well, especially as no one ended up with any new holes in heir bodies as a result of the sword. It fit me very well, which was a concern, as I am 6'9" tall, and often have difficulty finding things to fit me, unless they are custom made. The straps are adjustable, so it should be able to fit most people. And it can also adjust to hold swords of different sizes as well. I would say it probably couldn't hold a full-size claymore, since it is at its biggest size, and can only barely hold the bastard sword I bought it for. But just about any other sword should be fine. It is pretty easy to put in as well. I was able to put it on, first time, in about 2 minutes, even with having to adjust the straps, and with almost no help. Subsequent wearings have been even easier. It goes on your body exactly as the picture shows, and there is really only way to put it on, so you shouldn't have to worry about putting the thing on you. It may take a little trial and error, to get the size right for you, individually. But it shouldn't take too long to do that. The only reason it got four start, not five from me, is that the leather (which seems to be really high-quality stuff), rubbed against he shirt I was wearing, and completely ruined the white shirt I had on. It seems that the leather isn't "sealed" completely, and it left black residue all over my shirt. Partly my fault, for wearing a white shirt with it, but it still annoyed me. I liked that shirt. It also weighs a lot, like, a lot. Which is because of the god quality leather they used for it. That, paired with the weight of the sword I carried in it, got quite heavy after a while. Paired with a lighter blade, it probably wouldn't be as much of an issue, but just be aware before you make plans to wear it forever. You may wear yourself out over time. Again, since I am not a small person, the effects weren't so bad, but just be prepared. Also, don't wear white with it.
