My New Year’s resolution (which I started halfway through December) was to cut out energy drinks, and I needed a mug that I could bring to work that would keep my tea warm, even when I stepped away from it for too long. I have a 32oz Hydroflask from college I still use, but don’t want to put anything other than water in that one. The 12oz is the perfect size for my batches of hot tea, and it fits in my cup holder for my car (which has a gap for the handle to fit in). While it still keeps my tea hot a lot longer than just a regular mug, it doesn’t keep it comfortably hot for longer than an hour or so if left unattended with the lid fully on, which I think is a fault of the thinner, less insulated lid, as well as probably the size being so small. If the lid was a bit more insulated, it could probably stay hot for longer, even at this small size. I usually drink my tea within the hour, but there are times my ADHD takes over and I forget about it, and come back to a warm-to-tepid cup of tea after a couple hours. Great mug if you’re relatively quick about drinking your tea, though (within an hour or so of brewing). The lid isn’t spillproof, but I haven’t really knocked this over. The bottom of the mug is the same matte, almost silicone-feeling texture as the rest of the mug, so it’s not prone to sliding around on a desk easily. Haven’t tested it in a dishwasher, as I prefer handwashing, but I’m sure it’ll hold up just fine.

Here in Houston, our cups sweat with cold drinks. This insulated mug/cup keeps your dink cold and no sweating.

The good: it looks nice in a minimal way (however, I did add some floral decals to make it prettier and more feminine). It keeps my coffee hot until the last, leisurely sip. The not so good: the lid makes it hard not to dribble and get coffee on my clothes. I like using it without the lid, so I can see the coffee and enjoy the fragrance more. And it does help my coffee to stay hotter, even without the lid. But when it starts to lose heat and I put the lid on I have to be very careful how I sip, and be ready to catch dribbles. So, without the lid it is great. With the lid, nope.
