Old Gold Gimp Braid Trim 5/8" X 10 Yards

I've been purchasing this gimp braid trim (amongst other ribbons/trims & packaging) from Paper Mart for over 10 years. Their prices are very affordable, especially for small businesses and offer quality products. I ended up coming to Amazon to purchase more of the gimp braiding as their website shipping rates have increased significantly. Unfortunately, they charge nearly 3 times here on Amazon than they do on their website. So, either way, I guess I'm still paying for the crazy shipping increases. Bummer. Also keep in mind, you may run into rolls that are cut.

This gimp trim is made well, but the color is a bit odd. It's more yellow that gold, but a weird yellow.

The product is high quality but although the photo makes it look metallic it is not. Instead is a just a flat gold color like a Crayola crayon. I learned the hard way you have to look for the word "metallic" in the description and will try that next. I also discovered although I ordered three rolls instead of one three times , I could not return the two unopened ones. This is not the sellers fault --- it is Amazon's. Caveat emptor!

I tested a small piece in some cool water to check for any bleeding of the wine color. So glad I did as it really did bleed. Cut my pieces and then rinsed, let soak 5 min and re-rinsed in small bowl in sink and less color came out. I was using on black cloth so it should be OK. If you have another color it may not be as much of a problem but test it first. Also, you must use a permanent fabric stop-fraying glue for the cut ends. (I used Aleene's brand Stop Fraying.) This is very nicely made 5/8" braid. I like it. Just prepare it well.

not worth the money, returning it. get it at the dollar store for a lot less.
