Great Set of Features at the Price
A year ago, I searched and searched for a multimeter with a battery test function, but couldn't find a reasonably priced one. When I looked last week, I was happily surprised to find this one, with battery test and several other handy features at such a low price.Any multimeter will measure the voltage of an AA or similar household battery, but that's hard to interpret unless the battery is dead. A true battery test function, like this meter has, will put a small load on the battery - 10 ma in this case - giving a better indication of whether it will deliver power to a device. The blurb above (but not the manual) says that a 20% drop indicates a bad battery. This will hold for a household battery but not a high-current car or UPS battery.NCV (non-contact voltage) detection is another feature low-priced meters rarely have. It tells whether a circuit is live by holding the meter near it. Other handy features include frequency measurement, backlight, flashlight, a hold button, and holders on the back for the test leads.Minuses: The test leads are just pin probes; they don't even include alligator clips. And although two 600 ma fuses are included, there are no 10A fuses for the high current range. Because of the low price, I didn't deduct a star for the leads and fuse, but if you don't have clip leads already you'll probably need to buy them. The voltage, current and resistance measurements agree with my other multimeter to within a fraction of a percent. The frequency measurement is exact to 0.02% off on several audio frequencies I tested.Being such a new product, the vendor didn't get around to telling you that the meter measures 2.8" x 5.9" x 1.7" and weighs 8.4 oz.

Decent meter overall, fairly priced
It doesn't have a couple of features I would have liked. It uses an (apparent generic) display that shows Min, Max for example, but it doesn't have that function. It's (delta) "Relative" feature (zero'ing) only works for/in capacitance mode. Like every other meter the display backlight turns off too quickly. If weight is a reflection of quality, it should be decent quality. It has a solid rubber protecting cover, with pen holders for probes. Good rear magnet, useful if working around metal casing (a/c heating systems trouble shooting etc.) Display is a decent size, so can be read easily.Uses 4 - AAA batteries, this gives lasting power if Auto Power Off is over-ridden, or Duty cycle is being used. This also allows for a flashlight, which some 9V units don't have. As batteries are standard, these are readily available, my use will be intermittent, so having basic standard size batteries is another plus. However, I don't plan on leaving the batteries installed. Made a quick "washer" to turn battery cover screw to "captive!"Auto & Manual ranging is a very useful feature, Auto ranging can be a pain if you fail to notice it changed range when using. It has a 20 Amp current range, with a limitation of duration, higher than a lot of other meters. Continuity buzzer seems OK and it also buzzes if it goes overrange (in at least voltage range.) Will avoid risking current overload, although it came with 2 extra fuses. It is my go-to for house etc., could be used for auto as well but I will use a different unit with Min/Max functions. It's sample rate is 3 times a second, better than some others. Manufacturer was responsive (except for Chinese New Year) to questions. Stated warrantee 3 years, don't know how well this would work if ever needed?DC (Volts/Amps) is always the default, but press (Funct) to read AC. Temperature, it's default is Degree's C, but press (Funct) to be changed to just read Degrees F. NCV seemed functionally working.Didn't do a comparative accuracy check, but readings seem reasonable, certainly within the range I would be really using.Overall, a solid 4.6 star. Price was reasonable (on sale) for its common useful functions.

World Lightweight Champion
I don't mean that in physical terms, as this thing is quite the monster in terms of size. But for the price, this DMM is unbeatable. You simply can't get a multimeter that'll outperform this one for under $50. I'm not even convinced it's any worse than meters 3 times its cost.6000 cycles isn't much by modern standards, but it's plenty for most hobbyists or working professionals. And it more than makes up for it in accuracy. I'm still blown away by how incredibly accurate this thing is after several weeks of putting it through its paces and comparing readings with my highly accurate, albeit dated Fluke. It rarely disagrees with the Fluke and if it does, it's marginal. The last thing I expected was accuracy with capacitance and resistance, but it's basically bang on every time and never disagrees with itself either when doing multiple checks on the same component. Unbelievable. It says it shouldn't read ultra low capacitance, but it seems to have no issues reading tiny little 2pf ceramics. The design is also pretty amazing. Not only do you have a nice midnight blue thing going on, but it has built-in lead storage and mounting magnets! Freaking magnets! Someone else said they found the magnets to be weak, but I think they're more than adequate for mounting itself to anything except maybe a refrigerator. I haven't tried that, but I could see if sliding around. But on a sheet of metal, the neo mags are plenty strong. My only slight gripe is that the leads are fairly mediocre out of the box. They aren't silicon, but I didn't expect them to be. They will definitely require a cleaning with alcohol from time to time to keep them reading fast. But if you spend a little bit of cash on some Probe Masters or have an extra Klein/Fluke set lying around, you can have yourself one heck of a multimeter. So many functions, so much accuracy. This thing is the pound for pound champion of DMMs as far as I'm concerned. It even comes with an extra set of fuses because why not?
