Burley Travoy Rack Mount

I’ve left review on Travoy trailer and seat post mount that i attached to my All-City Mr. Pink for a light n quick ride. But I couldn’t stop there as I looked over at my all-around beast city/tour bike SURLY LHT! The curiosity with its use on my favorite bike (with a rear rack) was killling me. So i dove in the burley pockets (again) and ordered this rack set up.I’ll just keep this review simple. If you’re like me and you love bike options, (and who doesn’t have more than one bike?) then this is a no brainer. It swivels nicely above rack.Yes this eliminates any rack top loading. Maybe a seat bag will clear but (i suppose) the negative would be that -and also may effect rear panniers. I attempted a side folding banjo shopping pannier and it didn’t fly. Haven’t tried my carradice or ortlieb pannier yet. Attachment length adjustments would be necessary if it does work. My guess is the trailer with rack hitch needs to swivel through the steering range to be safe. And currently I’m not traveling anywhere I’ll need this entire set up of trailer plus panniers front and rear. Cross that bridge when needed or I’ll order a Bill Trailer by surly for the crazy bizarre hauls. I also have a BOB trailer so I’m pretty well rounded on the long and short con trailer rigs.My advice is set the bracket and hitch (sold separately) as closely beneath seat stay and rack as possible. This will allow you to use the most of your rack when trailer not in use. Personally they should’ve made this a detachable piece from rack (because) it will pain if i were to take this on and off just to use all my rear rack surface area. Next design upgrade that won’t be inexpensive I’m sure. But I’m forgiving if it improves my life!I’m happy about it and i hope my review and pics help someone else. I was a bit in the dark on it but I’m pretty handy with making things work. This took all of 3 minutes to atttach. And i get the impression it has a wide range of rack use.

This adapter works great on my rack. I love my Burley Travois!!The seatpost attachment would not work as the travois trailer was making contact with my rear wheel. Using this rack mount bracket allows the travois trailer to sit at the proper angle. My only complaint, is the rear rack is no longer flat, it has this big bracket sticking up off it. That said, my rack bag still fits in front. Overall, I love this thing.

This hitch is working well after I added 1" of height with some aluminum bar stock from Amazon. Without the added height the trailer arm would not clear the rear of my rack. I simply bought some 1/2" bar stock, cut two 6" lengths, drilled it to match the existing holes and added it under the top part of the hitch with some longer screws from HD.

The angle of my bike seat post made it tricky for me to attach and detach my burley travoy but this little mounting device solved the problem. Granted I probably could have had my husband rig something up for less than the cost of this device but I would have had to wait for him to get around to it. I mounted it to my rear bike rack as close to the bike seat post as possible which means that I can still easily mount my rear pack when not using the travoy.

Purchased a new Rivendell Appaloosa. Very long seatstays. My Travoy wouldn't fit my seatpost without this rack mount. Installation was simple. Mine is mounted very close to my seat and allows room for a trunk bag and my saddle bag. Very happy because I love my Travoy.

Does the job - no issues. I wish it would hang further back so that I can place a bag on the rack, but easy to set up and gets the job done. Don't forget this needs the actual coupler - not a negative, just a fact, this is only the bracket for the rack.

Got this for my Burley Urban trailer and it fits nicely on my rear bike rack thereby allowing me to easily attach the trailer and my panniers. Love it!

Received it early but screws are a little shorter I have to return but it look sturdy.

I have an eBike. I was surprised that the Burley Travoy trailer arm turned out too short to reach to the seatpost because of the size of my wheel. So this little mount came as a life saver. It fits securely to the rear rack. Best as much forward as possible. Having said that The mount will prevent using a top bag when you’re not using the trailer. A quick release fixing solution would earn 5 star rating.

Well made and easy to install

Es ist nicht in Ordnung mit dem Bild für den Artikel zu werben, sodass man glaubt die Kupplung ist dabei, wenn sie bildlich so vorgehoben wird, man kommt ja nicht auf die absurde Idee, nur für den Adapter so eine horrende Summe zu bezahlen, eindeutig trügerischer BESCHISS an den Konsumenten. FRECHHEIT!!!

Ich fahre ein 29" e-bike und da wird der Abstand zwischen der Deichsel bzw. dem Trailer und dem Hinterrad doch recht knapp, insbesonders beim Überfahren sehr grober oder hohen Schwellen schleift ganz kurz der Travoy am Hinterrad. Eine Montage der Kupplung weiter hinten am Rad (nicht an der Sattelstütze) bzw. auf einem Gepäckträger bringt daher Abhilfe. Gut finde ich, dass der Winkel des Adapters die Neigung der Sattelstütze berücksichtigt, was in der Abbildung fast nicht zu sehen ist. Der Kupplungsbolzen steht daher in derselben Position wie an der Sattelstütze. Daher halte ich den Preis auch für gerechtfertigt. Die Kupplung selbst ist natürlich nicht dabei, steht auch klar und deutlich dort, dennoch halte ich die Kupplung selbst für verbesserungswürdig. Für Fahrten im Gelände ist sie jedenfalls ungeeignet, auf Asphalt und Schotterwegen verrichtet sie ihre Dienste. Aber echtes Vertrauen in die Konstruktion habe ich nicht entwickelt. Bei mehrtägigen Ausfahrten ist eine Reservegarnitur bestehend aus Kupplung und der Hartgummi Aufnahme am Trailer immer dabei.

Die Kupplung funktioniert einwandfrei, sieht allerdings auch extrem hässlich aus. Wir verwenden sie weiterhin, weil es eben zweckmäßig ist und nicht anders gelöst werden kann. Aber der Hersteller sollte da, gerade wenn für etwas Metall soviel Geld verlangt wird, ein wenig am Design arbeiten.

Met deze plaatjes kan je de Burley Travoy fietsaanhangwagen zeer makkelijk op het bagagerek van je fiets aankoppelen.Ik heb er nog wel een vierkant buisje tussen gestoken zodat de fietskar wat hoger boven het bagagerek uitkomt. Zo kan ik mijn fietstassen samen met de aanhangwagen vervoeren.

It's a piece of aluminum, and not even a re-enforced piece of aluminum. The bottom piece of my mount warped against the rack on tightening. It can also move the load too far back. Be careful is my recommendation.

ich bin sehr froh, dass ich nicht irgendeinen Anhänger gekauft habe. Der Burley ist perfekt. Er läuft ruhig hinter dem Fahrrad hinterher, lässt sich sehr einfach einhängen und ist auch zu Fuss sehr handlich zu bewegen. Ob mit der Tasche oder einer Getränke Kiste, es lässt sich alles verstauen. Ein Sehr guter Kauf.

L'oggetto rispecchia la qualità dei prodotti Burley: semplice da installare e comodo da usare. L'unico lato negativo è legato all'estetica: si poteva/doveva mettere un po più di impegno per realizzare un supporto esteticamente più accativante

robusto attacco multi uso. il difetto sta nel prezzo alto ma il prodotto permette un uso come base per diverxsi attacchi. attenti: il venduto consiste solo nella sbarra.

Ganz leicht zu montieren, sofern man keine fest angebauten Satteltaschen hat wie ich, dann wird es aufwendig ;-)

Acheté pour utiliser la remorque Burley en complément d'un siège enfant sur le porte-bagage, j'ai retourné le produit car il ne permet pas d'attacher la remorque à l'arrière du porte bagage (derrière le siège). Il n'y a pas de jeu vertical sur le système d'attache, et vu l'angle de la pièce, cela ne convient pas du tout.Attention comme indiqué il n'y a que l'angle en aluminum pour ce prix, et pas la fixation qui est fournie avec la remorque.
