Seems to be good quality so far, the colors are very vibrant and the spools are nice for storage and are easy to use. I did my first design with it today and it turned out great! I’m using it on a Brother NQ1700E embroidery machine.

I have not had any problems with breakage or fraying...so far, but I minimize that issue by using ballpoint embroidery needles with the proper size eye and the use of 60 wt bobbin thread to reduce bulk on backside of project! I will be ordering again and would appreciate the VIP service and deals. My .pes patterns are actually matching up with the numbering system on your threads. LOVE the way you have color numbered the label on the end of the spool. Wish there was a small notch or channel to catch the thread ends when not in use. Thankyou for the spool nets. I have found them to be an excellent addition! I am using a Brother SE 630. #11 ball point embroidery needle with #60 bobbin thread. I also run my machine on a slower speed setting and change needles about every 3 projects as recommended in my machine's manual. These are stitched out on felt without stabilizer. The brothread 40 works just as well on vintage wool and a soft faux leather both with stabilizer.

I appreciate the reviews and was pleasantly surprised about the variety of colors and the actual spool size. Which is similar to a Coats & Clark 400 yd spool. The pricing, quantity, and great color selection will meet my current needs. As I plan to use the thread for basic embroidery, tatting, and Sashiko mending method. The tatting and Sashiko will require multiple layers, so the fine shiny thread is not an issue. In addition, 10 mesh nets where included to wrap around spool to secure loose ends. However, I just notched a small cut with utility knife at the indentation at the bottom of spool. I have not tried on my 20 yr old Singer Quantum 9910 and newly purchased Singer Heavy Duty 4423. But will make sure I service the Quantum 9910 before trying any embroidery stitches.

I was a little hesitant to order this thread. I’ve never heard of this manufacturer and I’ve never used machine embroidery thread in my sewing machine or serger. My Janome is not an “embroidery” machine, it’s a heavy duty mechanical machine with about 10 or so embroidery stitches as part of it’s stitch repertoire . I mainly bought this thread set to use in the loopers of my serger (for when I do a three thread flatlock that will show on the right side of the fabric) and realized it might make good top stitching thread for my Janome as well. My Janome will only work properly with Gutterman or other expensive good quality thread, no Dual Duty or other cheap thread works. I tested it out on both machines and on various types and thicknesses of fabric and I’m pleasantly surprised at how durable it is. It is a bit slippery when I used it for all three threads in the serger (Brother 1034 DX) when sewing fleece, the fleece kind of bunched together, so I found I need to leave an extra long thread tail to stretch the edge back out. Once I stretched the fleece back out it looked beautiful. I didn’t think it would work in my Janome because of its Gutterman only requirement, but it works great, no thread nests or breakages whatsoever. I only wish we could order individual colors because I’m not going to keep buying sets of 40 spools of thread just to replace one or two colors. Also I hate pink, I will not be sewing anything that requires pink thread EVER, and I don’t want to end up with some sort of mother load of unused pink shades by repeatedly ordering these sets. The reordering of individual colors seems to be a running theme in the reviews, so maybe the manufacturer should listen and come up with a solution. I know they sell large spools in sets of three for some of the colors, but not all of the colors, and they are grouped so that you get three different colored spools in the same color family. I ordered the purple set and guess what one of the colors was— PINK, ugh.

High quality thread, does not snap often (usually because of a mistake on my part). Vibrant colors, very close to the original Brother ones, but considerably less expensive.
