SVBONY Telescope Filter 2" CLS Broadband Filter, Reduce City Light Pollution Suitable for Deep Sky Visual Astronomical Photography

Bortle 9+ skies. Neighborhood: Oak Cliff. Just outside of Downtown Dallas Texas. The worst possible place to view the stars in my opinion. Equipment: Orion XT6i doing visual astronomy. We couldn't see much in all honesty, Because the sky was like looking at the stars through an empty plastic milk jug. After viewing the Orion Nebula for a few minutes, I remembered having my CLS Filter. Screwed it on and it made substantial difference! The Orion Nebula had a lot more contrast and detail. It was visibility much more enjoyable to observe. After that we looked at a few double stars and Pleiades which looked nice. Can't comment on Astrophotography, but for visual viewing, in the described sky, it made our night go from "hohum" to "Oh wow! Look at that!"

I like it it really cut out the light pollution

Let face it we are not NASA. Don’t need to spend every dime on the top of the line things unless u want to for a status symbol . This will serve you well under moderate light pollution I live in a bottle 6 skies and it gets rid of almost all of it. If you haven’t tried svbony before give them a chance. For being a “budget” brand they are really cranking out some high quality things over there. Keep it up

If you took off the ir blocking filter on you dslr you can use this and it should help bring it back for regular photography. Also great for night landscape photography where there are city light. And for astrophotography it is great too but... Make sure you take your pictures without this first so you can get a star profile to add to your nebulous or galaxies because this tends to put halos in the bigger stars. Other then that this is perfect for the polition of light taking over our great night sky's.

The clip in plastic got loose after just a couple of uses. And it keeps falling off. By the time i realize the quality, my return window got ended. I had improvise by shoving in some rubber band pieces in the gap between body and protruding plastic clips to make it springy enough to hold in tightly. Had to take away 2 stars due to that. Otherwise the CLS does its job, I am in bortle 6 zone and astro pics output is good.

I like that it does remove city light pollution, and easily clips inside my Canon T7i. What I do not like, is it filters out a lot of light in the object I was shooting. The company contacted me and resolved the problem. I will gladly do business with them in the future.
