Was a bit concerned trying this that it wouldn't be as good as Gutterman. But it is fine. Works well and the machine seems happy with it. Just use a metallic needle and maybe a drop of Sewers Aid. Also using the little nets that come with the thread helps. It works well on the machine and pulling out thread for hand sewing. Very pleased so far with these. They should last me a couple of years! Very good value.

Great qualityvand lovely colours

I love my Brother sewing machine and all my Brother sewing threads (I never use any other make). This time these Brother threads did not work out for me. I tried every trick in the book. The threads are beautiful and I can just imagine the designs but I could get only a few stitches before thread break and shredding. Sadly I only tried the gold and sent them back for a return. Very sad. Give them a go you might have better luck, all embroidery machines are different.

This order arrived very quickly, and the colours are brilliant in all senses of the adjective. These threads are what the machine embroiderer has waited for all their lives... The metallic threads are so good natured and work beautifully even without using the "Top Stitch" needle that is recommended. I used a straightforward embroidery needle on my Bernina and the results are magical. There is no Diva-like histrionics that normally come to light when using Metallic. These threads are perfectly mannered and no fraying or breaks were experienced at all. Most importantly no frayed tempers either! I did have to reduce the top tension slightly and lengthen the stitch, but that was all. I now fully expect that using my Brother Embroidery Machine and a Top Stitch needle, it will be the most relaxed machine embroidery session ever AND Hubby and the Dog and Cat will NOT have to leave home and go for a long walk until the status quo is restored. Buy these threads with confidence, and you too, will have a fantastic experience.

Lovely to embroider with

I wanted a selection of metallic machine threads for some Christmas quilting... Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to use these threads.. However, I can comment on, Value for money - 4 large spools which will last some time! Selection - lovely selection of four spools in different tones of silver and gold which came with a little protective net, to stop them tangling when on the machine... Versatility- can also be used for hand OR machine sewing.. I am really looking forward to trying them out on some projects in the New Year!!

This thread selection brought a lustre to my embroidery. I'm new to embroidery so no expert but achieved beautiful results. For best results follow the guidance. Use thread nets and top stitch or metallic embroidery needles. Slow the machine down and lower the tension. I found the extra work required was well worth it when I saw the results.
