eSATAp Port for backups to SDD
Worked perfectly for my DELL Inspiron 17R N7110 laptop. I could make a backup to SSD using the eSATA Port. Thank you.

Excellent cable.... But...
This cable is excellent for fast data transfer from laptop to a sata hdd if you have an esata port, same transfer speed as internal drives, BUT.... IT WILL ONLY WORK IF YOU HAVE A COMBO USB/ESATA PORT OR ESATAp (powered), older Esata ports won't supply power so this cable is not for you, a Google search will show you how to tell the difference... I have a Dell E6320 and it works perfectly

Works well, but only with an eSATA socket
I liked the simplicity of connection it afforded. It is important to recognise the need for an eSATA outlet.

Give it a miss
Rubbish, cable arrive damaged in 2 places where it was folded, the plug end had a damaged brass lug and would not fit securely into the laptop.. Hopefully it hasn't damaged my equipment!

Wrong cable
Needed sata 3, this looked to be the product I needed but it's not the same board connectors.

It works
My use case is maybe somewhat niche; I wanted to use some old 5.25" drives (like an internal optical drive) but my case, as with a lot of modern cases, lacks front bays. So I used this cable in combination with a rear expansion slot Power Over eSATA board with 12v capability, and I have been able to make use of the optical drive.

I used this to migrate from magnetic HDD to SSD using the Windows facility. Works a treat as long as your machine has the right socket

Ottimo prodotto: avendo un notebook un pò datato di quelli pieni di connessioni di tutti i tipi, ed avendo una e-sata e porte usb 2.0, ho pensato di comprare questo cavo per la connessione di dischi esterni. Ottimo acquisto: la velocità e la stabilità della connessione sono di gran lunga superiori rispetto anche alla sola porta usb. La porta e-sata è strutturata in modo da avere una "presa" più salda nel connettore e la velocità di trasferimento è di gran lunga superiore. Qualche stella in meno sulla comodità di utilizzo semplicemente perchè non si tratta di un cavo "stacca e attacca" come quello usb, ma essendo un collegamento di interfaccia diretto al bus con alimentazione integrata, è un pò più spesso e rigido rispetto ad un tradizionale usb, ma ripaga in prestazioni.

Es bastante comodo no necesita alimentación extra y en general puede resultarte muy útil si necesitas trabajar con muchos discos duros.
