SAMSUNG DA66-00558B Refrigerator Door Closer/Hinge Cam Riser, Left Upper, Replaces DA66-00558A

This is a wear item on a Samsung RSG257AARS refrigerator and easily changed if you're reasonably handy. It is plastic and provides friction reduction and detents between the two steel hinge pieces it fits between. Old item was broken and missing the larger cam side which caused a metal-on-metal grinding sound when opening the door and prevented the door from closing securely. Change-out was straight-forward following excellent directions found in online repair videos. Freezer door is moderately heavy so a second pair of hands is recommended for re-installation.

When my Samsung Freezer door started clicking then wasn't opening or closing properly I knew I had an issue. With a little research on Youtube I found that this was the problem part (it was cracked and falling to pieces). It was a perfect fit. I replaced the opposing part as well and added some lube between them to extend the life of the parts. It was a small project but it fits and works perfect. Be careful and get some help removing the door so it doesn't fall when you're loosening the hinges.

This is the second time I have had to replace this part in 5 years. The part is inexpensive...the installation is a little bit of a pain... YouTube helped. The part worked great... it just wears out faster that I expected.

The product is cheaply made and the freezer door clicks when shutting the door. I purchased this to fix the clicking when the door opens, but now it clicks when the door closes.
