These replacement filters fit my standard Brita pitcher without any issues and installed easily. They filter the water just as expected, improving taste and clarity, and I didn’t notice any leaks or fit problems. They’re a good alternative to the name-brand filters, especially if you go through them regularly and want to save a bit of money. So far they’ve performed exactly as they should, and I’d purchase them again based on value and compatibility alone.

Just as good as the name brand will buy again

These are filled with a granulated form of charcoal. When first put into the water pitcher, run a pint of water through it. The water will be gray from the dusty charcoal that DOES rinse out. It is not a bad thing, and the charcoal won't hurt to drink it, but dump it out, and repeat the pint of water in, then dump it process 2-3 times, until the filter is fully wetted inside, and all the loose fines have been rinsed out. Easy peazy, and you're good to go. And the taste of the water that has been run through these filters is superb. Of course, it does depend somewhat on what quality of water you put in, because charcoal water filters are not magic. They filter out a decent amount of impurities. My water starts out good, but after running through the filter, and chilled in the refrigerator, it tastes as good as any bottled water I have ever tasted. And at such a low cost per gallon! What's not to like! I like these! They fit right and function JUST FINE! I am surprised that people are sometimes alarmed when the first few cups of water through a new filter shows some charcoal powder in the filtered water. NO BIG DEAL! This is perfectly normal. I have read of people eating charcoal (in capsules) to soak up toxins they have ingested. Again, with a new filter, put a few pints of water through it, and dump it a few times until it is clear, and the rest is as it should be, just what you wanted. Best of refreshing hydration to you!
