Live At The Fuji Festival

My wife and I REALLY liked this concert! Though a disco-era band, they were more funk and it shows in the concert! Brought back a lot of memories and the performances were, for the most part, on spot. Niles is Niles and was great with the showmanship. Velez appeared to think the show was more about him sometimes than he should though he gave some good performances. The lead vocals were amazing, even as they performed songs written for other artists. Jessica Wagner is not just a talent, but VERY pleasing on the eyes! And Omar Hakim is LEGENDARY! Cioe, Ramm, Hilton, and Barnes were ALL great!My favorite part was when they performed the eponymous song "Chic" and allowed the musicians to "get crazy" and show their stuff.The artists for this performance were:Vocals - Sylver Logan SharpVocals - Jessica WagnerKeyboards - Sweet Cherie MitchellKeyboards - Richard HiltonTrumpet - Curt RammTenor Sax - Crispin CioePercussion - Omar HakimPercussion - Gerardo VelezLead Guitar - Nile RodgersBass - Jerry BarnesAt the end, my wife and I were actually dancing! Very few bands sound identical to the studio records without the aid of post-production and overdubs. So, IMHO ignore any post that says you can't reproduce disco in a live setting. Obviously the recorded mix was done live and it talk the bord operator the whole first song to get the band dialed in for a good listening mix. Once you get past that sit down and prepare yourself for a tight rhythm section, horn section, keys and singers. Nile Rodgers holds his own on the Fender Strat but as the main force behind these tunes is a pleasure to see performing them, right down to the Yowsa's! The audience was not mic'd adding to my belief that this video has little to no post-production. Well worth a view... and crank it up!

AWSOME! That's what the music from the 70's was and still is going strong with so many outlets to hear it from. My wife would be there for sure! She loves Chic and all their wonderful music. Nile Rodgers is one of the best in the business. This concert was so well done and the music is great and still enjoyed by so many still today. Come on Chic, tour the USA, (West Coast). Anyone who loves this music, and especially Chic, will love this.

Chic is 100% on their game in this concert playing all their hits and many others they wrote for other artists like "I'm coming out" and "Upside down your turnin' me" by Diana Ross. Great crisp camerawork, great audio, High energy and great dancing. They sound just like they do in their studio recordings. And they look and move with passion for their music. One of the best concerts I've seen that's included with Prime. Highly recommended.

Awesome Band........ Missing Bernard Edwards, Tony Thompson, Alfa Anderson, and Lucia Martin. New cast is great as well. Not sure where the ladies are but R.I.P. fellas !

Older concert - sound quality lacking. But Nile Rodgers and the group are great! Worth watching just to find out how talented Nile is and all the songs he has written!

If you loved disco, you will love this. I thought Chic was one of the finest groups out there years ago when disco was king and this concert didn't disappoint. I know outside of Nile Rodgers, this is not the original musicians, however these performers were at the top of their game.

Blown Away!! Been Freakin since the 70's and these lady's and gentlemen rock tha HOUSE!Anyone remember 45's? Well that was studio mixed and this isn't... I like the live version yowza!

Wurde sehr enttäuscht.DVD Vorspann in Stereo, aber dann das kompletteKonzert in Mono. ( mit PC und DVD Player ausprobiert ).Habe dies leider erst jetzt zwei Monate nach Kaufb.z.w. durch erstmaligen Abspielen der DVD festgestellt.
