This is a great product. We use it for drywall patching. It goes on smooth and sands nicely. It does take a little longer than spackling to dry. But it’s worth it because it works well and is so much less expensive. Some reviewers complained that you can get this at your local big box home improvement store for $5.78 so the Amazon price isn’t worth it. Come on—seriously? I paid $7.24 at Amazon including free shipping (for this fairly heavy product) right to my door. To me, that’s a very good value. This works well for me: When the tub is less than full, it helps to wipe the inside edges after use, to keep those small cling-on chunks from drying and then falling into the tub. If you let those dried chunks fall into the tub and mix with the good stuff, they will mess up the next layer of joint compound that you apply to the wall and keep it from going on smoothly. Another tip that works well for me when the tub is less than full is to press a piece of plastic wrap down inside the tub, flat against the top surface of the joint compound. Leave it there and put the cover back on for storage. That keeps the air off of it and keeps it from drying out. Huge tub for the price. Fair warning it’s gray and not white.

This works great for patching holes or fixing chips in paint. Dries up nicely. Paint goes over nicely too. A little goes a long ways. Makes my job easier when need to fix dings in garage wall. My Mom had a water tank leak and after a year of seeing how bad wall looked, I scraped bad paint on wall and replaced with this to help fill in areas and looks better. Great for texturing the wall, was easy to paint over. This texture/fill in dries pretty quickly really easy to use. Easy to apply thick or thin layers. Now mom’s garage wall looks perfect!
