A Tolkien Journal (RP Minis) Paperback – July 10, 2012

This is a reprint of a journal that I bought for myself in 1979. It has sweet drawings by JRR Tolkien that illustrate The Hobbit. I never used mine as a journal because I couldn't bear to write on the pages and mar the beauty of the sketches. My daughter likes to journal and likes the Tolkien books even more than I did, so I bought this for her for Christmas.She was thrilled with it. This one has a sturdier binding than the one I had and will last her many years. I think she even plans to write in hers.The pages are blank except for the sketches (not lined). I like this aspect. It gives more freedom when you are journaling to sketch, make diagrams, or write words. The paper is sturdy and worthy of a journal that you intend to keep for many years.

The journal looks nice.I was wondered if anyone who bought it can let me know if it came factory sealed in plastic and or cardboard. I was given an option for new or used with the used one being cheaper. I chose new but I am not sure if it actually is!Thanks

My husband writes a lot and he is a huge fan so he started using it to take notes at church. Sure enough it got some attention, a really good purchase.

It's adorable for any Tolkien fan. The illustrations and lovely and charming, though I do wish it was lined. I love the discovery however of each new page. I'm really glad I got this.

My daughter said she really liked receiving this book as a gift. She likes the pictures of the characters in this book.

Nice journal, like the harder cardboard, plastic cover. Graphics are good although "A Hobbit's Travels" journal by Running Press graphics are better, more extensive and with colour.
