Does this have the modified part shown in the service bulletin?

Not sure what modified part you are speaking about. So far, this new ice maker replacement has been working great, making ice, not freezing up, and not leaking all over the floor of our refrigerator. This had been the case with our ice maker that came with the fridge. It was a complete disaster from 6 mos of owning the Samsung fridge. This new ice maker has lasted about 2 1/2 months so far, so we are happy that it is currently working. We would have bought a new refrigerator if we had the money because Samsung refrigerators have terrible reviews and servicemen that come out for repair say that this brand keeps them in constant business..

Question 3

I want to know the magic genie inside that tells the fridge to stop making ice because the bucket is full.  Is it optical or mechanical? No ice.

As in, it isn’t making ice?  Samsungs that used this style of ice maker have a habit of freezing over, and once it is frozen, you need to pretty much thaw it out, or take a hair dryer to it to thaw it. 
The newer version of this ice maker has some changes to it, that apparently reduce freeze-overs. The other difference maker I found, was to get a food grade silicone sealant, and seal all the way around the ice maker box inside the refrigerator. It reduces the humidity, and reduces freeze-overs. 
Since I replaced the maker, and sealed the box (2 years), I haven’t had a freeze over.

Same here. Bought it because original was freezing up. Newer improved! No way still freezes up. Can't find a remedy to this problem. Had some bad icemakers in the past this is the worse.
