Skimlite 9016 Dually Heavy Duty Professional Lock Pole

This order was supposed to be delivered by May 6th. It is now May 15th and now they expect the product to be delivered by May 30th. The detail now shows USUALLY ships within two months with an option to cancel the order. I bought two of these swimming pool cleaning poles...sounds like a great product and one is a birthday present for a dear friend who celebrates her birthday on the 28th. I guess I must go empty handed. I hope the product is worth the wait and the additional trip of 100+ miles to take her late present to her AFTER her birthday. Undependable supply...disappointed at this point...Very happy finally!! Unscrews at the handle to allow extension, heavy duty, won't bend, but it took FOREVER to get it (over a month late)...

Just received what appears to be a very sturdy telepole.However, I'll never know what it's like to use, as upon unpacking it from it's kludged two-boxes-taped-together-to-make-one flat box, I find that it is not only bent but the tip has been crushed and nearly broken off.I fully accept that it is my fault for not checking the item before signing for it's receipt, and I'm $101 poorer for the experience.Why Amazon, or the manufacturer of this item, thought it wise to ship such an easily damagable item by truck freight versus UPS or Fedex is beyond me. I've previously ordered Jed-brand telepoles from Amazon, and they were packed in purpose-built triangular-profiled boxes, delivered by UPS intact.I really wanted to try this pole out, so I will be attempting to straighten it and cut the damaged end off. If that doesn't work, I may try to buy another Skimlite in my continuing quest to find a telepole capable of surviving my efforts to use a Hammerhead pool-cleaning vacuum without bending the pole beyond functionality within 10 minutes. But I surely will not be buying another Skimlite from Amazon.

The pool is ok but is very hard to adjust after a few uses. I emailed their customer service twice over a 3-week period and no response. Won’t be doing business with this company again.

Lightweight but sturdy

The poles are sturdy and the best out there. We are a professional pool company and use only these. The thing that is annoying is the shipper wanted someone to sign every time we ordered. We are not at the shop every moment of the day. They showed up and left and it made a customer had to wait one more week. They were not happy.

Cams seize up after about four to six months, manufacturer ghosts you if ask for warranty replacement. They will do nothing but tell you to hit it to break the cams loose. You can hit it on the ground, You can put it in a vise, you’re not breaking those cams free once they sieze up. Massive design defect. Avoid this manufacturer.

This is my second. I would get a third, though I can live with out since they are pricey for me. My first one I have had for several years now, and my only regret is I did not buy two at the time.
