I have just received mine today, but I have used several times already, and it doesn't fault. In response to other comments about it being impossible to shake off the liquid back below the 36 mark - please take time to read instructions! The thermometer comes with two cases - white inner case and clear magnifying the outer one. To shake off the liquid back insert the thermometer into the inner white case, making sure the metal probe slides in to the hole at the end of the case, then holding the case by the other end (rounder ribbed holder), shake it several times. It won't work if you try to shake the thermometer inside the clear case. Overall happy with the purchase, and particularly the fact it's mercury free.

VedoecoPlus Glass thermometer🌡️ I found this kind of thermometer the most reliable one so far. It takes a few minutes to measure your temperature (7-10 mins in the armpit, less if using other methods), but at least it gives an accurate result. Made of glass, so can break but mercury free. Reading the result is easy putting it in the transparent outer case which works as a magnifying lens and the thermometer is easy to reset (shake) placing it in it's white plastic case.

Some of the descriptions for this product point to a battery run thermometer which could not be further from the truth since it is entirely manual and replicates the thermometers of yesteryear in glass and mercury. Fortunately the mercury has been removed and been replaced by a tin-based substance which is tougher to shake back down the thermometer once you’ve taken your temperature. Fortunately, a special thermometer holder/shaker is provided for this task. The thermometer provides accurate readings as long as you’re patient enough to sit patiently for a few minutes although reading the temperature against the degree scale could be clearer. However, if you want an old-fashioned thermometer (without the mercury), this is the best you’re going to get

I bought this product two months ago. I was looking for a thermometer that wasn't digital (I've had some in the past and haven't find them accurate) and also mercury free. I know this brand and it's popular in Italy, so I decided give it a go. I used few times and I'm very happy with it. It's easy to use, you just need to follow the instructions, keep it for 10 minutes in the right place and try to don't move it. I was worried on being able to unload the temperature so to test it (used it 3 times almost consequently), as soon I read the temperature, I scrolled the thermometer still warm and it worked perfectly! I can say I'm satisfied of this purchase.

Such a waste of money. It stopped working after a few months. It always shows the same temperature when the temperature should definitely be different.

After two different digital thermometers measured my body temperature of 35.4 degrees, I decided that I had enough of that and bought a classic thermometer. And... guess what? My temperature is 36.5! The downside is you have to sit still for 4-5 minutes, it could be difficult arrange with children

My thermometer didn't shake down the measuring fluid to below 36 C. The flick of my wrist was not strong enough to move the fluid. I solved the problem by placing the thermometer into the white plastic casing and then sliding it into the magnified clear tube. Push the thermometer from the top so the bulb sticks out from the bottom of the tube. Next, get hold of a sock with no holes in it, place the thermometer downwards into the sock, grip the end of your sock and get ready to swing the sock with power around and around. Make sure that other people stand well back. Swing it hard several times. Good luck.

Cheap classic thermometer. I haven't had to use one in years and it was always a mercury one. This is an alloy of different metals it seems to make it harmless. I mean..... you can't really accuse physics of cheating so I think it provides an accurate reading providing you use it properly. Very easy to reset just take a minute or 2 to actually read the instructions boys and girls. Instructions help.

Enfin un thermomètre fiable et sans pile

Me encanta porque es igual que los de antes de mercurio pero mejorado. La forma de uso es la misma aunque se ve mucho mejor el nivel de la temperatura. En caso de tener dificultades para leer la temperatura, incluye una funda de plástico transparente con efecto lupa, que amplía los números y la graduación. Y por último pero no menos importante, había leído reseñas en las que dicen que a estos termómetros cuesta más bajarles la temperatura. En mi caso no ha sido así. Además, en la funda incluye un plástico blanco que sirve justamente para ayudar a bajar la temperatura y con un par de meneos lo tienes solucionado. Ninguna queja. Si algún día se me rompe, repetiré sin dudarlo.
