Upon opening the box was damaged, but don't worry because the product is within a sealed silver envelope. As long as that seal isn't broken then there's no problem. There is a slight odor to the product as well, nothing harsh but kinda doctor office exam room in smell. As I've said, I'm hopeful because upon taking off one of the booties a few flakes of skin came off.LONG OVER DUE REVIEWOverall I'm satisfied with my result. I had EXTREMELY calloused feet from working in boots on solid concrete for years and not taking proper care (pedicures). With that being said, the amount of dead skin that peeled away was amazing. My feet are soft! I STILL have some callouses right below my tools and a bit on the heels, but compared to what was there before its way more manageable. This isn't a miracle one trick cure all for people with extremely calloused feet, but its a great jumping off point to manage your feet. I will be buying a second peel in the next 2-4mos!Also, yes, there is a LOT of peeling of dead skin. You can wear normal shoes/socks throughout the peeling process and the more you move around the more your feet peel. By day 4 very little peeling so I did as I read here in other reviews...got in the shower and buffed my feet which then set in motion the peeling process. I peeled for about 5-6 days and my feet were about 90% smooth just a touch of callased skin on my heels. The rest of my feet look great...are smooth and the heels are barely noticeable with just a touch of callus left. I am going to try it again in several weeks and see if my feet will become 100% smooth. At 90% I am still thrilled! Now the lotions I use can be absorbed. I can not imagine not being super pleased with the New Silky Smooth Foot Mask...give it a try...so nice to have smooth feet again. I also want to mention the customer service is the best I have seen. The directions are pretty similar, and I found daily foot soaks helped speed things along really well with both products. I did lose dead skin everywhere the booties covered during the treatment. This one, however, didn't loosen nearly as much dead skin as Baby Foot. 3 weeks later, I'm positive that what's done is done and though my calluses are thinner, they are still very much there. This was cheaper than an aggressive pedicure, and about as effective, but it also takes a heck of a lot longer, doesn't massage your feet, or paint your nails.
