A Time Capsule of the 70's Rock Era
If you're a fan of Seventies Rock Music, this album delivers! The "Time Capsule" of the late Seventies. From the smooth jazzy feel of Steely Dan or the bluesy growl of Bob Seger to the melodic power guitar of Boston you'll understand precisely why the music from this era is called Classic Rock. Other featured artists? Tom Petty, Foreigner, Doobie Brothers, Queen, Dan Fogelberg and Joe Walsh. Highly Recommended!

Glad I finally found this soundtrack
I remember watching the movie as a kid and loved the music. Never could find a reasonably priced copy till now. It’s 70s Rock and it just puts you in a good mood (especially if you’re familiar with the movie. Very happy with it.

Possibly the best classic rock soundtrack... EVER!
Took awhile to get here, but it did have to make the journey from the UK. Well worth the wait!Take a look at the track list. It speaks for itself!Sending much love from the USA to OxfordshireEngland!

Fantastic Compilation
So glad to finally see this CD set down to a reasonable price. My mom bought the Lps back when it came out in ‘78 which ultimately infiltrated my record collection. This is a fantastic compilation - radio edits notwithstanding for some songs; thankfully “Life’s Been Good” is in all its glory! Five stars!

Will take you back to the 70's.
An outstanding collection of the kind of 70's rock you would have heard on a typical rock radio station of the time. Includes includes live performances by Linda Ronstadt and Jimmy Buffett, at least live as portrayed in the movie. Includes "FM Reprise", an instrumental re-edit of the Steely Dan theme song. This disc will "take you back" to a time when the music was an important element of people's lives. By the way, if you're thinking of buying or otherwise seeing the movie...don't bother, it's lame.

GREAT SOUNDTRACK WITH UNIQUE STEELY FM RECORDING.
This soundtrack compiles a great collection of songs. The Steely Dan FM track is unique as it has a WB guitar solo starting at 3.20 till the end of the track. All other SD compilations have that guitar sole replaced by a Sax solo, with the exception of the compilation ''The Definitive Collection'' released by Geffen Records in 2006. This collection has the guitar solo. The CITIZEN 4 CD Box has that extended sax solo not the extended guitar one.

In some ways compareable to Saturday Night Fever Motion Picture Soundtrack
This album is stuffed full of mid Seventies classic songs. Saturday Night Fever (obviously disco and not AOR) is the only other album I can compare this to. The problem being that the film 'FM' wasn't as good - so many people may have missed the album as did I first time around.I would highly recommend this as a piece of Seventies nostalgia.

FM - No Static at all!
Glad to have a copy of this double CD as it contains some great tracks from the 70's. I am also please as it has the full version of Steely Dan's title track (FM - No Static at all). I can't remember much about the film this comes from as it has been about 30 years since I saw it but can never forget the music used in it. Great music for a long journey in the car and well worth checking out if your musical taste is from the 70's

Great snapshot of the era.
I've had this album on record (I refuse to call them vinyl) for 40 years, and bought this for the convenience of CD. Mostly good, although there are a few fillers. The highlight is Steely Dan's superb FM - probably my favourite record of all time. Here you get the proper version with the guitar solo and the separate Reprise which features the final sax solo. Most versions you hear on the radio have the Reprise spliced on the end in one of the worst edits in the history of recorded sound. Cruel and unusual punshment is too good for whoever was responsible.

The best soundtrack album of the 70s, by a country mile.
I purchased the album at the time of it's release, without ever bothering to even consider seeing the film (which I happened to catch on TV many years later, nothing worthy of an Oscar, apart from the great songs). The track listing is the [then] cream of the US 'West Coast' rock sound, headed by the magnificent Steely Dan, who wrote the excellent theme and reprise. The running order is so good, each track almost seems to compliment the next (and previous) song. The only two weak songs for me are by Linda Ronstadt, but that's very subjective, I'm just not a big fan of her vocals, however, the band are quite good, so even that has compensations.Always good to hear, especially when travelling - either belting out of the car speakers, or more sedately on headphones whilst on the train.
