For those who don't know, cilantro, as it's known in the US, is actually the immature leaves of coriander. While what we know as coriander are the mature seeds. We seem to call them by two different names because their tastes are so different. In most of the world, both products are known as coriander. They are simply the leaves or seeds of coriander. Well, now and then coriander seeds are harvested too early and they taste like a disgusting mix between the leaves and the seeds. That's what happened here. The bitter almost soapiness of cilantro invades the coriander, while the coriander adds a weird tang to what otherwise could be used instead of dried cilantro flakes. It's simply not good at all. Coriander seeds are one of my all-time favorite spices, and I use it in a lot of my cooking, so this was a decent disappointment. Hopefully, the next brand I buy will be better.

I just received my "freshly Ground Corriander"...only it is definitely NOT fresh, or perhaps not even Corriander!!! I have been buying and using corriander on a daily for at least 5 years, so I definitely know what it looks,feels, smells, and tastes like. I opened the bag to use it for dinner tonight, and gave it a big sniff. Instead of that beautiful fragrant aroma, it smelled like a bag of rice that was years past it's expiration date, or even the smell of old latex paint,or??? There wasn't even the slightest detection that it was, or had ever been corriander, or any spice ,for that matter!! Also, it was not elligible for return!! AMAZON's customer service rep was kind enough to issueme a refund, but I definitely feel the need to warn others about this product!
