My purifier showed that the air is clean but this monitor showed that the air is clean only near purifier. So I bought one more purifier and now my whole bedroom is clean air. ### ⭐ Return it as fast as possible *by G***. on 23 August 2018* This product is not getting charge since I had put it on charging need a replacement or refund. Return it as fast as possible... ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ The best you can get at this price *by J***N on 31 December 2018* I have been using this since the past few months. This monitor is the same as the Kaiterra laser egg 2, with the added feature that it can also measure TVOC levels. I would overall recommend this to anyone looking for an air quality monitor. The meters on the purifiers, even the ones with laser sensors are not accurate and you do need a dedicated laser-based device like this one which probably costs more than your purifier if you want to understand what the PM2.5 is in your home and how it varies with the use of an air purifier.Pros- You get to know how well your air purifier is working. The readings that the purifiers show are completely inaccurate and the auto mode are pretty useless. You need to run the purifier constantly at a high speed to get pollution to improve if you are in a city like Delhi. Sometimes because of air leakage, etc. the purifier- The device works on a battery, so you can carry it around. People only really understand the value of getting an air purifier when they see the hard numbers.- You know exactly when to change your purifier's filters. Sometimes the filters can last much longer than what's claimed.- You know how many purifiers you would need to improve your air quality. This is more relevant for offices and restaurants that are using purifiers but also important if you are going to purchase a costly purifier. In most cases it's better to go for 2 cheap purifiers than one that costs 20-30k, as you get twice the CADR instead of an improvement of 10-20%.- The PM2.5 value seems correlated to the PM2.5 from the station nearest to my home, so I would say it's accurate enough.- You can see how the air quality varies in different rooms. With the live display you can see how the level goes down sharply the moment you enter in a purified room and goes up one step out of the door. And how the pollution in your car is different from the pollution in your home.- You can also plot temperature and humidity though some purifiers would also allow you to do that via their apps.- Charges using a Micro USB, you can use your power bank to power it up.Cons- The build quality is not very inspiring and the plastic does not look premium. However it is good enough for a monitor that's going to spend most of its life sitting on your shelf.- The VOC monitor gets stuck to a reading at times. For example, if it detects a high VOC reading in a room, then even after taking it out of the room the reading does not go to zero - it gets stuck sort of. You have to reboot the monitor to get it to show the correct reading. This is not so with the PM2.5 rating.- From what I have read, the airvisual node has a better accuracy with PM2.5 readings. However it is much more expensive. It also has CO2 readings which I now think are much more important than VOC readings. Here's why - if you have a sensitive nose you can probably smell VOCs anyways and don't need a purifier to tell you they exist. VOCs are not always harmful - for example if you are using essential oils in your room the VOC counter would jump up but that doesn't mean that the air is polluted, it's merely fragrant. However, what happens when using an air purifier is that you tend to keep the doors and windows closed so that the purifier can work. The oxygen level in the room does not change by much but the CO2 level decreases as we breathe. This is because there's a lot of o2 in the room but a small amount of co2. This small amount can decrease by a lot in relative terms and can make one feel drowsy and have other effects hence it's important to open the windows every once in a while, or keep them partially open permanently at a sacrifice of air quality. All this is however difficult to judge without a monitor telling you how much CO2 there's in a room. I plan to get a separate CO2 monitor when I get rich but for now opening the doors once in a while will have to do.- There's no desktop app. You can get raw data but you have to do it via the app and they email it to you.- I don't really use the app much, but it could do with some work.- There's no recalibration in the Indian service centres unlike the Chinese ones but you have to pay to get the sensor replaced if the calibration goes out after the warranty expiration - I don't remember how much that costs but it's something along the lines of Rs.4k. I would suggest that if you do buy the monitor, once you are out of the initial craze charting how your purifier works, etc. use the monitor only when you need it, don't keep it on continuously and definitely let it go to sleep.
