Hi the pump comes with a positive and negative wire that you can attach to a battery or large enough solar panel with the fittings. The pump is quite powerful so if it is pumping a lot the amount of energy needed to keep going would be more that is usually stored by the basic solar systems. Ive purchased a simple power adaptor costing about £4 off ebay and that runs to pump rather than off the battery.

What height can this pump to?

Mine pumps 4 feet up from the bilge to the exit.

Yes. Its intended for boat use in a 12v battery. I installed mine onto the 12v

Can you wire this without a switch? Just direct to the battery ? Will be placing it in my rib while on a mooring

Essentially this is how you would wire it anyway.. Automatic side direct to battery and the manual side to a switch in case you wished to check it still works and run for a little longer to insure all the water is removed. Don't forget to include a fuse between the battery and pump! Also if your relying on this pump to keep the boat dry then I would invest in a better quality pump tbh These are ok for backups or extra pumps but they are to unreliable as a sole pump.
