I’ve got a lot of magic books but have had a tough time finding tricks to teach my kids who are 4-5. They’re pretty little but they see me performing and they want to do it too! Most of the tricks involve props that you can make from stuff around the house or a trip to the craft store. I like that there is a lot of arts/crafts involved in the effects. It helps the kids make the tricks their own, incorporating the secrets and test them out. This isn’t the stuff they teach kids in school! There’s good material here for many age groups and as they get older, we’ll be able to do more complicated things. The book is well written and the instructions are clear. I was glad to find this book and am excited to turn my kids on to some fun stuff that they can build and do! Review: Best book of magic for kids - I am in my second semester of teaching a magic class. When I saw this book that Joshua Jay wrote, it had to be good. I have been a member of the Magic Castle since 2004 and have seen magic of all kinds. From children's show to the big illusions and met hundreds of magicians. The kids in my class liked looking at the book and I think some will be purchasing it. It covers many magical effects from close to stage magic.

A great gift to spur imagination, creativity & pique curiosity and interest in something that IS NOT tech.
Good condition. I think it just might hold up to the abuse of kids. Gave it to my grandson as part of his Christmas gifts. He seemed excited to try out the secrets of magic. I think its a great way to expand the mind and improve dexterity.

Highly recommended by seasoned magicians for young magicians!
This book covers much of the different 'types' of magic. It even shows some illusion building. Great book for young magicians to learn the basic principals of magic! My husband has been a magician for 50+ years, and is very selective on what he gives the young people he meets that want to learn magic. He bought one of these for our grandson, and has had me order FOUR MORE for other friends' children.

Good for a older child
We were learning magic for our first time as adults and we're going to teach 5 and 6 year olds to perform magic and have an actual performance at the end of the week. I really thought this book would help us but most tricks were more complicated than we wanted to do. The book is big in size, really too big for little hands to hold but the Magician Oaths, the illustrations and font of the book were very easy to see and read. I would recommend for an 8 or more year old child.

Nine year old niece loved this
I bought this for my niece who likes magic and she loved this book. It had awesome illustrations and it is such a great size. Such a nice book and hours of fun for kids. I like that this was everyday magic. Nothing super complicated needed to do these tricks. My niece is 9.

Life’s little treasured moments & memories
I bought this, as well as the “yet to arrive” Magicians Hat, gloves & wand and am giving it to brothers aged 6 & 10 for Easter. They live hands on games and this will be something the whole family can have fun with. And once they have the tricks down pat, they’ll be amusing everyone they can.
