The book is good for basic patina and brief recipes only.Many formulas include 'sculpt nouveau pre-made dyes' , Rather than making your own mixes .it was disappointing for few major patinas you have to rely on those then why to buy the book!.good For beginners but would prefer better andin depth details

Author articulates the subject of patination really well. But the receipies mentioned in the book doesn't work as per the pictures mentioned. And some of the methods and techniques are not practical for large scale commercial application. But still a good book for the beginner and hobbiest.

I am an artist that is also an engineer. This book is completely my style of book. It speaks to both the artist in me as well as the engineer. This book not only does well showing the technical details of different materials (highlighting what actual alloys were used in the test) and finishing methods, but then also beautify presents each result in well organized color chips. This is really a great starting place. I would say that perhaps it might be intimidating for someone new, but it gives you everything you need to start and to experiment, while also letting you know the range of possibilities.

This book obtained from another source after the one finally shipped by Amazon 6 months after order was deemed undeliverable and refunded.The book itself is awesome, inspiring me to add other metal treatments to the projects I make- Most of the recipes I haven’t yet tried, but the explained processes are easily achievable.

The book offers a wide range of methods to create patina on different metals. I found it easy to read and the recipes at the end are straightforward to follow. If patina experiments are your interest, beginning with this book and supplementing with internet searches will give you plenty of things to try.

un bel lavoro relativo alle patine sui metalli, meticoloso, ricco di immagini e spiegazioni.ottime illustrazioni,ideale per chi lavora i metalli e vuole sperimentare la colorazione indotta da prodotti chimici su metallo.Attenzione: bisogna avere un buon laboratorio dotato di standard di sicurezza efficaci per mettere in pratica gli esperimenti con le patine.Spesso consiglia l'uso di prodotti tossici, e dannosi per la salute quindi la prudenza è d obbligo .gli spunti che si possono trarre sono molteplici e positivi.
