    Awesome History of Gangs and Violence and Debauchery in old NY"

What a great read, even though it was written 100 years ago, its a very exciting dive and I do mean dive, into the Bawdy and violent world of New York gangs of the 1800s and early 1900s.  A great accompanyment to the fantastic movie of the same name.  Its definitly not for children.

Tenía curiosidad por leer este libro, que inspiró el relato de Borges "El proveedor de iniquidades Monk Eastman" (Historia Universal de la Infamia) y la película "Gangs of New York" (Scorsese). Aunque ambas obras se desvían notablemente del original, he decir que su lectura me ha encantado, pese a ser una edición modesta, en papel no precisamente lujoso. Abunda en grabados y fotografías que ilustran el relato. Muy recomendable para quien quiera bucear en los orígenes de Nueva York.
