This item just grips the edge & is easily removable, leaving no marks/residue. It has stopped my cables dropping on the floor, where I had to repeatedly pick them up to plug devices in. Great Idea. Review: Great solution, no glue or screws needed - Exceptionally useful little item. No glueing required (my desk is antique) these clip the cables in securely and hold them in place. An excellent solution to keep everything in place and tidy.
